ObamaJob #1: Servicing His Supreme Leader

The Prime Directive

That's funny; "Fundamental Transformation" looks a lot like Fundamentalist treason.
Former Ambassador: Obama Allowing Slaughter in Syria to Preserve Iran Nuclear Deal

Amb. Frederic C. Hof:

"More than half of Syria's pre-war population now falls into one of the following categories: dead; dying; disabled; tortured; terrorized; traumatized; sick; hungry; homeless. The regime of Bashar al-Assad is responsible for the bulk of this rampant, remorseless criminality. The administration of Barack Obama, if it stays on its present course, will make it through noon, January 20, 2017, without having defended a single Syrian civilian from the Assad-Russia-Iran onslaught. This thoroughly avoidable result may well serve to define Mr. Obama—accomplishments at home and abroad notwithstanding—as a failed president." .........

"may"? Sorry, Ambassador; that ship sailed a long time. Obama is not just a failed president, but the worst president ever and a comprehensively wrecked one at that. Unless, of course, you are an enemy dictator, in which case he's your huckleberry.

There are even tens of thousands of Palestinians in Syria who are dead, jailed, hungry or being bombed. But since it is by the Assad/Putin/Ayatollah Axis and not Israel, it's No Big Deal.

The Poodle President and his Lap-Dog Media: "If we can't use them to beat Israel down, we're not interested. Don't wake us up 'til the bar opens...*(yawwwwwwwn)*"

'You Know Too Much!': John Kerry

Yeah--That's the Problem

"Uh-oh; you mentioned the war..."
"...[I]f you decide one day you’re going to be a terrorist and you’re willing to kill yourself, you can go out and kill some people. You can make some noise. Perhaps the media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover it quite as much. People wouldn’t know what’s going on." (Applause.) Think about that, the audience is applauding the vision of a world where “people wouldn’t know what’s going on.” This applause came during Kerry’s remarks at the Edward M. Kennedy Center in Dhaka, Bangladesh ...
You can’t write satire about this administration anymore; it’s become too inherently contradictory and absurd. The Associated Press is ignoring John Kerry’s sudden imitation of Basil Fawlty – “Don’t mention the war!” ...
Actually, to John Kerry, who has to defend a foreign policy of complacent inertia for the past four years, a media decision to not cover the abominable colossal killing of ISIS would be a service.".....

Maybe we wouldn't know so much about terrorism if there wasn't so much of it. You know--because you did your job.
Though in fairness to Lurch, the fish rots from the head down.

Scientists Build Bridge Out of Affordable Care Act Paperwork

"We can now legislate reams of unreadable, unworkable, bankrupting fantasy legislation--and rebuild our infrastructure at the same time!" gushed Assistant Under-Secretary to the Federal Pot-Hole Inspector Deputy Dog-Catcher in charge of Crumbling Highways and Shovel-Ready Liver Transplants Shirley Lundeen-Bridges.

Justice Roberts ruled that the bridge was constitutional under the Federal Paperwork Reduction Act.

I'm sure our refugee program screened out the kid and let in the man. If you can call an animal a "man".

But, hey, we heroically resisted the siren call to war.

Or was it 'to victory'? Oh, well--make the kid clean it up.

Obama Lets Iran Deploy Russian S-300 Missiles Around Fordow To Protect Nukes They're Not Building!

And You Paid For It!

"Don't be afraid to see what you see."--Ronald Reagan

"Thanks, Obama--we could never have bought these new Russian Air Defense Systems without your awesome MissileCare Program! Just like you said; 'If you like your dictator, you can keep your dictator.'"
There is some speculation that Obama may have been behind the failed coup attempt in Turkey.

First, it was a failure.

Second, there's Joe Biden's over the-top obsequiousness in apologizing to Erdo. I'm surprised he didn't give Erdogan a little neck rub. It was so cheesy, it was sponsored by the California Milk Advisory Board, which consists of two of Jerry Brown's girlfriends and an illegal alien to be smuggled later.

On the other hand, Joe may have thought he was attending a ribbon-cutting at a Slurpees R' Us in Rehoboth Beach, as is his custom. He prefers the Arugula Tutti-Frutti. With a senior's discount.

There is absolutely nothing in Barack Obama's gutless history to suggest he would ever take on a Muslim Brotherhood thug like Erdogan.

Except one thing:

If the Ayatollah ordered him to do it, to stop Erdogan's Sunni Caliphate Dream for the Ayatollah's Shia Caliphate Dream.

That's crazy talk, huh?

Really? Let's take the Three Hour-Tour with President Price Tool:

Iran deploys Russian-made S-300 missiles at its Fordow nuclear site:

"Our main priority is to protect Iran's nuclear facilities under any circumstances," Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps' (IRGC) air defense force told state TV.

Obama Admin Gives Green Light For Iran To Build Two Nuclear Plants:

“The Obama administration seems committed to making Iran into a nuclear power,” the source said. “They’ve purchased heavy water from the Iranians, as if the Iranians were legitimate nuclear suppliers, which they’re not. They’ve made excuses for Iran seeking to procure nuclear parts from Germany and elsewhere. And now they’re celebrating Iran building full-blown reactors.”
“All of this is the exact opposite of what they promised Congress, and for good reason, since Congress is committed to ensuring Iran never gets the infrastructure to be a screw turn away from a nuke,” the source said."

US has declared their support for the Iranian to "continue building" their nuclear reactor in Arak.

DANGEROUS TREND: Confrontations between Iran, US Navy double from last year, more frequent than thought

"These new boats are great--and the new missiles are The Bomb! Get it? Thanks, Suckers!"

Sec. of Clinton Foundation Subsidiary John Kerry:

"You know, in this busy modern world, so few people take the time to say "Thank you" anymore. So I'm appreciative of those Iranian sailors who stopped by the USS Nitze just to say "Thanks for buying us these new speedboats, America!""

"I'd also like to thank the Mullahs for their quick and appropriate response. They showcased for Gen. Votel, head of Central Command, their new Houdong fast attack boats we paid for as well. The General was aboard the USS New Orleans when it was buzzed, and he likes to see how our scarce defense dollars are spent, even if it is by another country's military. So thanks all around, guys...and Bon Voyage, Lovey!"

"Just glad I could help, Skipper. And help. And help. And aid. And comfort..."

UPDATE:  MissileCare, indeed.

Legal Insurrection: "...Iran was required to repurpose the centrifuges at Fordo and turn one of its major nuclear installation into a ‘medical research facility’, dedicated to ‘medical imaging’. Deploying missile system that fires rockets twice as big as the average patriot missiles, makes Iran’s Fordo clearly the best protected ‘medical facility’ in the world.".............

The Kurdish Betrayal: Business As Usual

 Ask Any South Vietnamese

"Many of us English-speakers use the phrase "young Turks" without pondering the origin of the expression: The original "young Turks" were the youthful activists agitating for reform in the last decades of the Ottoman Empire. The phrase itself recognizes a connection between political energy and demography. As yesterday confirmed, today's young Turks are Islamist. The Kemalists are old Turks."--Mark Steyn

Packed courts, phony elections, banned opposition parties:

"Lt. Col. Ralph Peters told The O'Reilly Factor that Obama "should have just kept his mouth shut, because the people staging this coup are on our side."
"They're against the Islamists, fundamentalists and extremists. They're for democracy. They're for a secular constitution."
Peters said that President Obama "romanticizes Islam."
"He's somehow talked himself into believing that Erdogan is our ally and friend, where he has been insidious and pernicious, undercutting our interests."
He lamented what he called the dismantling of a great, fascinating country with a rich history by "an Islamist fundamentalist authoritarian president."
"And our president is taking his side," he added."................

at Restoring Liberty: "There was one policy, just one, that the U.S. had engaged in which seemed to be working out well: Our government’s backing of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Kurdish-led militias that are allied with local Christians (the Syriac Military Council and the Nineveh Plain Force), that with growing success are taking territory away from ISIS. In those liberated regions, the SDF has established enclaves where Christians have religious freedom and their own armed militias, and women take part in government (unlike in most of the Middle East). ...

What motivation does the Obama administration have for turning against its erstwhile allies, the best hope in a desolate region for establishing something like a free and pluralist government? ...[W]e are currying favor with Turkey — the former secular democracy which is morphing before our eyes into an Islamist dictatorship, in the wake of a failed coup that has proved a pretext for a massive purge of secular-minded dissidents.

This is the same Turkey that has gone from provoking Russia (by shooting down a plane that was fighting ISIS) to cozying up to Putin. Turkey is also blackmailing the European Union for huge cash payments and visa-free travel throughout the continent, with the threat that if these demands are not granted, Turkey will dump hundreds of thousands more Syrian migrants across the EU border into Greece and Bulgaria.

So concerned are U.S. generals over Turkey’s untrustworthiness that they have pulled U.S. nuclear weapons out of their longtime Turkish base of Incirlik.

Turkey has for decades savagely repressed its large and growing Kurdish minority, and its autocratic president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, would rather see ISIS prevail in Syria than the creation of a free, democratic Kurdish region that might serve as a magnet for armed Kurdish rebels in Turkey.

To patch up relations with that regime, the Obama administration has apparently decided to throw its Kurdish and Christian allies to the wolves — and embark on a campaign of flattery aimed at Erdoğan. ...Biden gushed that “the American people … stand in awe” of Erdoğan and his supporters for beating back the bungled coup. Biden did not mention the ugly crackdown that was taking place all around him as he spoke."...........

Reuters: "Turkish-backed forces pushed deeper into northern Syria on Monday and drew a rebuke from NATO ally the United States, which said it was concerned the battle for territory had shifted away from targeting Islamic State. .... "We want to make clear that we find these clashes - in areas where ISIL is not located - unacceptable and a source of deep concern," said Brett McGurk, U.S special envoy for the fight against Islamic State, using an acronym for the jihadists." [used only by weenies and hacks]

BBC: "Ankara wants to force the Kurds to withdraw to the east of the Euphrates River, stopping short of establishing a corridor to link two Kurdish-led areas in north-western Syria.

Turkey enjoys tacit support from Russia, the Assad government and Iran in acting to prevent further territorial gains by the Kurds and their allies. The US, on the other side, has said it will try to prevent Turkey coming into conflict with its allies in the region.

A possible Turkish campaign against the Kurds in Syria could also risk igniting further clashes with the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) militants inside Turkey. The PKK recently upped its attacks significantly in correlation with the Turkish operation inside Syria.

US Envoy Brett McGurk tweeted from a Defense Department briefing, saying the US "was not involved in these activities, they were not coordinated with US forces and we do not support them. Accordingly, we call on all armed actors to stand down and take  appropriate measures to deconflict and open channels of communication."" ..........

Do you "stand in awe" of Erdogan like Joe Biden does? I don't. On the other hand, Joe Biden stands in awe of the Chia Pet.

The Kurds aren't perfect, but they've been good allies, much better than Erdogan. And they never led a terrorist flotilla against Israel like Erdogan did, either.

Erdogan's also the one who let tens of thousands of ISIS recruits into Syria in the first place. And then facilitated the flood of millions of refugees and terror moles into Europe--and the USA. Of course, he had some help...

"Hmm...I wonder how much damage we can do before Trump takes office...?"

France: Running Out of Medals--But Not Heroes

"Could you point me to the front lines, please?"

"...Franck, who was on a motor scooter, decided in a split second to chase the truck and when he caught up, rammed it — to no avail — and was knocked off. He got up and ran after the truck, managed to climb onto the running boards and began hitting the driver through the open window. As the driver, Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, tried to shoot Franck his gun failed and at the same time, Franck tried to open the door of the truck, then tried climbing through the window, but the driver struck him on the head with the gun and he fell, breaking a rib and badly bruising his back.

Franck said he was satisfied that when the driver was fighting with him, he was not running over more people. “He was concentrating on me; in that moment he could not kill people,” he said."......

Labor Day Laborer

Takin' What They're Givin' Cos' We're Workin' For A Living

Or not.

Why start now, Big Boy?
In anticipation of next week's holiday, an excerpt from the vacationing Mark Steyn's "The Day After Labor":

"One fifth of British children are raised in homes in which no adult works. Just under 900,000 people have been off sick for over a decade, claiming "sick benefits", week in, week out for ten years and counting.
By 2012, one tenth of the adult population had done not a day's work since Tony Blair took office on May 1st 1997 - a decade and a half earlier. In such households, the weekday ritual of rising, dressing, and leaving for gainful employment is entirely unknown. In Ferguson, Missouri, the "conversation", as they say on MSNBC, is between the dependent class and the governing class that ministers to them and keeps them in line. If you're a convenience store owner, your low-skilled service jobs are the only labor on offer, and, for your pains, you get burned and looted by the dependent class while your 911 calls go unanswered by the governing class, both of which you fund. ...

Consider Vermont. Unlike my own state of New Hampshire, it has a bucolic image: Holsteins, dirt roads, the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, Ben & Jerry's, Howard Dean... And yet the Green Mountain State now has appalling levels of heroin and meth addiction, and the social chaos that follows. Geoffrey Norman began a recent essay in The Weekly Standard with a vignette from a town I know very well — St Johnsbury, population 7,600, motto "Very Vermont", the capital of the remote North-East Kingdom hard by the Quebec border and as far from urban pathologies as you can get. Or so you'd think. But on a recent Saturday morning, Norman reports, there were more cars parked at the needle-exchange clinic than at the farmers' market. In Vermont, there's no inner-city underclass, because there are no cities, inner or outer; there's no disadvantaged minorities, because there's only three blacks and seven Hispanics in the entire state; there's no nothing. Which is the real problem.

Large numbers of Vermonters have adopted the dysfunctions of the urban underclass for no reason more compelling than that there's not much else to do. Once upon a time, St Johnsbury made Fairbanks scales, but now a still handsome town is, as Norman puts it, "hollowed out by the loss of work and purpose". Their grandparents got up at four in the morning to work the farm and their great-great-great-whatever-parents slogged up the Connecticut River, cleared the land, and built homes and towns and a civilization in the wilderness. And now? A couple of months back, I sat in the café in St Johnsbury, and overheard a state bureaucrat and a Chamber of Commerce official discuss enthusiastically how the town could access some federal funds to convert an abandoned building into welfare housing...

What does every initiative of the Obama era have in common? Obamacare, Obamaphones, Social Security disability expansion, 50 million people on food stamps... The assumption is that mass, multi-generational dependency is now a permanent feature of life. A coastal elite will devise ever smarter and slicker trinkets, and pretty much everyone else will be a member of either the dependency class or the vast bureaucracy that ministers to them. And, if you're wondering why every Big Government program assumes you're a feeble child, that's because a citizenry without "work and purpose" is ultimately incompatible with liberty. The elites think a smart society will be wealthy enough to relieve the masses from the need to work. In reality, it would be neo-feudal, but with fatter, sicker peasants. It wouldn't just be "economic inequality", but a far more profound kind, and seething with resentments.

Labor Day is an appropriate occasion on which to reflect upon the dignity of work and self-sufficiency and its indispensability to a civilized society. There may be something down the pike that can replace it, but, on the evidence so far, welfare, minimum-wage service jobs, heroin and meth aren't it."...........

Paradoxically, a word spoken in season is timeless:

Ronald Reagan's Labor Day Speech at Liberty State Park, 1980

"A recession is when your neighbor loses his job.  A depression is when you lose yours.  Recovery is when Jimmy Carter loses his.

I have talked with unemployed workers all across this country.  I have heard their views on what Jimmy Carter has done to them and their families.

They aren’t interested in semantic quibbles.  They are out of work and they know who put them out of work. And they know the difference between a recession and a depression.

Let Mr. Carter go to their homes, look their children in the eye and argue with them that in is “only” a recession that put dad or mom out of work.

Let him go to the unemployment lines and lecture those workers who have been betrayed on what is the proper definition for their widespread economic misery.

Human tragedy, human misery, the crushing of the human spirit.  They do not need defining--they need action.

And it is action, in the form of jobs, lower taxes, and an expanded economy that -- as President -- I intend to provide.

Call this human tragedy whatever you want.  Whatever it is, it is Jimmy Carter’s.  He caused it.  He tolerates it.  And he is going to answer to the American people for it.".......
"It was a personal tragedy when I lost my memory, Jack. But the real tragedy would be if America forgot how to be prosperous and free. We must stop this Bizaro President of the Future
and his evil Prosperity-Down-the-Memory Hole scheme!"

Reince Priebus: “Today’s disappointing news that the economy expanded even slower than reported is another reminder that we cannot continue President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s failed economic policies for another four years. Economists say Hillary Clinton’s tax plan alone will slow economic growth, reduce wages, and kill jobs. Donald Trump is a proven job creator who has spent his entire career building a successful business and will devote his full energy to restoring our economy. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, is promising more of the same failed status quo and has spent her career profiting off of public office. The choice for economic growth in this election could not be clearer.”

Mr. One-Percenter's Downward Revision

"Winning!"

Good News! The GDP has been revised downward from 1.2% to 1.1%!

And I'm sure they had to massage the numbers to push it over the single-digit finish line.

This ensures that Pres. Reagan-in-Reverse will achieve another one of his Signature Legacy(tm) Goals:

The Only President in History to Never Get a Year of 3% Growth!

Congratulations all around!

"Why is this good news?" you ask. It's not. For you.

But if your goal is to stifle prosperity so more and more people need welfare socialism, and to expand the Regulatory State so that Socialist Government controls Private Business, then this is the Bestest News Ever!

Plus, it has an added advantage; the more government, the more government favors for Hillary to sell over at the Clinton Thrift & Grift Foundation! Win, win, win!

And it weakens America, which is just sweet, sweet icing on the cake.

But I say we can do even better:

"Hillary says that what the economy really needs now is a tax increase. Crazy. ‎A new study by the National Center for Policy Analysis says that Hillary’s economic plan will eventually shave 1 percent off GDP. That would technically sink the economy down to zero growth."...............

That's the spirit! If we all pitch in, we can make this the best zero-growth yearbook ever!

"Let them eat of the Government Cheese. So let it be written, so let it be done."

"Iran beat me up and stole my lunch money...and I hope they do it again soon!"

ObamaStrong!(tm)

The Geneva what?
FoxNews: "Dangerous confrontations between Iranian and American warships in the Persian Gulf are up more than 50 percent in 2016 compared with this time last year, according to a U.S. defense official – despite the highly touted nuclear accord, as well as a recent $1.7 billion U.S. payment to Tehran."..........

"Despite"? Or "because"?

CNN: "State Department spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau said incidents like this one "unnecessarily escalate tensions," adding that the US doesn't know Iran's intentions.

In an encounter Tuesday, a US Navy official told CNN four Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps vessels conducted a "high-speed intercept" of the USS Nitze in waters near the Strait of Hormuz Tuesday, deeming the incident "unsafe and unprofessional.""...........

"Unprofessional"? Their profession is to make the world unsafe.

If their "motives are unclear", you should just ask them. After all, they're your new BesFrens4-Evs, aren't they? Just send John Kerry to the airport after midnight with a briefcase full of unmarked bills; maybe they'll sell him an answer.

Here's John Kerry on his fellow American vets:

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

"American soldiers [are] going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women..."

"[American troops in Vietnam] personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, [blew] up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam..."

Now, here's John Kerry on the Iranians:

"I can tell you that Iran in Iraq has been in certain ways helpful, and they clearly are focused on ISIL-Daesh , and so we have a common interest, actually."

"[They are] able to create a peaceful nuclear program with Iran living up to its part of this bargain and obligation."

"I also want to thank the Iranian authorities for their cooperation and quick response...And I’m appreciative for the...appropriate response of the Iranian authorities. All indications suggest or tell us that our sailors were well taken care of, provided with blankets and food and assisted with their return to the fleet earlier today.".......

Vets get the shaft from Lurch, but Iranians get the Dukakis/Kerry uranium-plated Willie Horton-Get-Out-of-Jail-Free card.

Iranian Swift-Boaters For Kerry!
Why is all of this happening now? It's not because the Iranianians think Obama is a weakling who they don't respect. Oh, don't get me wrong; he is a weakling and they don't respect him, just as the British didn't respect Benedict Arnold. But that's not why.

It's happening now because Obama wants it to happen now, while he's still in power to facilitate it.

Obama wants to defeat the rogue terrorist nation. But unlike normal people, he views America as that rogue nation, not Iran.

In that sense, he's strong. Strong for his goal to humiliate and weaken America. His goal--and Iran's goal.

That's why you fully fund the military--Iran's military.
That's why you send reinforcements to Afghanistan--Taliban reinforcements from Gitmo.
That's why you throw away our Surge Victory, handing it over to ISIS and the Ayatollah. With the added benefit of demoralizing our troops who sacrificed so much and discouraging future sacrifice.
That's also why you run the VA into the dirt.
That's why you salt the country with terrorist moles, so as to create a huge Fifth Column.
That's why you decree an Unconditional Surrender deal that provides Iran the cover it needs to finish its Bomb.
And that's why you let our airplanes, ships and troops be harassed, captured and humiliated by our enemies (your friends) with impunity. Even rewarding them for it.

And that's the difference between Neville Chamberlain and Benedict Arnold.

Godspeed, Karol; spoczywają w pokoju (Apr., 2005)

Even the popes were better. From our Archives, Apr., 2005

Requiescat In Pacem, John Paul II, 1920-2005

"Thou shalt show me the path of life; in Thy presence is the fullness of joy, and at Thy right hand there is pleasure for evermore."

John Paul: “It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who provoked you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is He who reads in your heart your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle. It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be ground down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal.”

"Love is never defeated, and I could add, the history of Ireland proves it."
"Social justice cannot be attained by violence. Violence kills what it intends to create."
"Stupidity is also a gift of God, but one mustn't misuse it."

"We must never forget that East of the Iron Curtain peoples who once enjoyed a full share of European culture, freedom and identity have been cut off from their roots.
We shall always look on Warsaw, Prague and Budapest as great European cities."--M.T.

"As I speak to you tonight, the fate of a proud and ancient nation hangs in the balance. For a thousand years, Christmas has been celebrated in Poland, a land of deep religious faith, but this Christmas brings little joy to the courageous Polish people. They have been betrayed by their own government.

By persecuting Solidarity the Polish Government wages war against its own people. ... If the Polish Government will honor the commitments it has made to human rights in documents like the Gdansk agreement, we in America will gladly do our share to help the shattered Polish economy, just as we helped the countries of Europe after both World Wars.

It's ironic that we offered, and Poland expressed interest in accepting, our help after World War II. The Soviet Union intervened then and refused to allow such help to Poland. But if the forces of tyranny in Poland, and those who incite them from without, do not relent, they should prepare themselves for serious consequences. Already, throughout the Free World, citizens have publicly demonstrated their support for the Polish people. Our government, and those of our allies, have expressed moral revulsion at the police state tactics of Poland's oppressors. The Church has also spoken out, in spite of threats and intimidation. But our reaction cannot stop there.

I want emphatically to state tonight that if the outrages in Poland do not cease, we cannot and will not conduct ``business as usual'' with the perpetrators and those who aid and abet them. Make no mistake, their crime will cost them dearly in their future dealings with America and free peoples everywhere. I do not make this statement lightly or without serious reflection." .........

“What justifies the existence of any political activity is service to man."

“Poland is a special Mother. Her history is not easy, especially in the last centuries. This is a Mother who has suffered a lot and who still today suffers. That is why she Has a right to a special love."

[April, 2005:] Hugh Hewitt; Do you think the whole Terri Schiavo backdrop will have any impact on the Cardinal electors?

Mark Steyn: I think that had a huge impact on people who think seriously about the issues of life. These are people who were chosen by John Paul II, and they understand that there's a level of decadence abroad in the western world. And that they are engaged in a struggle to hold the line until that can be reversed. And in that sense, this appalling case is really the starkest because of America's legalistic culture in a sense, because it wasn't just done quietly by a doctor as happens every day in the Netherlands. Because the entire power of the state, after all these various appeals, put her down like a dog, then I think that will have a great impact on people thinking about the culture of life and the need to sustain that through these dark times.

Hugh Hewitt: You just used a phrase, which is very striking...the level of decadence abroad around the world. What do you mean by that?

Mark Steyn: Well, because I think that essentially modern post-Christian Europe, and Canada, and large parts of the United States, too, have replaced the traditional impulses of civilization, which is to breed, and to prosper, and to expand and survive with a culture of narcissism. You know, I'd like to have, if you put it to me in those terms, I'd like to have meaningless, promiscuous sex, and just think about myself all day long, and all week long, and all year long. But in the end, when you prioritize that, you actually destroy the culture that enables it. It's a completely absurd culture and brazen. And that's what we've done. ..............

[Steyn's column:] "The progressivists’ assumption is that gay marriage, like abortion, is inevitable, so the Pope might as well get with the programme. In that case, why bother with religion at all? The difference between the modern west’s Church of the Self and John Paul’s church is that the latter believes in the purpose of life. The Church of the Flavoured Condom, by contrast, believes that man is no more than the accumulation of his appetites, and so you might as well license them. Given what Aids has done to African mortality rates and what abortion has done to European demographics, John Paul II’s eternal truths look a lot more rational than those of the hyperrationalists at The New York Times." ............

John Paul: "As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live."

It seems the current pope is confused on that point and others. I'm not Catholic, but Pope Francis is way too enthralled with thug dictators, hack politicians and trendy causes for my taste.

Why isn't Pope Francis seen standing behind these Ladies in White instead? They only want the freedoms enjoyed by the Pope--and by Military Dictator Raul Castro, for that matter.

John Paul would.

Obama claimed he had to pay the Walking-Around Money/Ransom Payment in cash because we didn't have banking relations with that regime, Miss Lewinsky. Nothing changed legally in the next two days, but suddenly, two days later, we did have a banking relationship and sent $1.3 billion to Iran in 13 payments plus a another $10 million mystery payment.

This was paid out of a "Judgment Fund", even though there has never any judgment issued against the United States--except for the verdict of Obama's own Blame-America-First-ism.

In fact, it's a "treaty" that wasn't ratified by the Senate, it's an "executive agreement" that Iran's executive has never signed, it has secret "side deals" when, in fact, the whole thing is a secret side deal and it's a judgment that has never been adjudicated. It may not even be in writing. Which means that fake phone number the beauty queen gave you on a cocktail napkin may be more legally-binding. The whole thing is extra-Constitutional rot.

Obama has repeatedly refused to name the central bank involved. Because transparency!

The Earnest Josher:
"This is the part that I'm limited in talking about. What we have acknowledged is that we were able to coordinate with a central bank, using the money and these funds, to essentially be a partner of ours in executing this transaction.  We have not disclosed the identity of that central bank, primarily because we're trying to protect the privacy of our partners who had essentially done us a favor here. The reason that we had to work with this other central bank is because there are significant limitations that prevent transactions from the U.S. central bank to the Iranian central bank."

Capitol Hill Cubans: "The Basel AML Index is the most renowned, annual ranking assessing country risk regarding money laundering/terrorism financing. ... The Index measured 149 countries, including such troubling actors as Iran, Venezuela, Myanmar, Sudan, China, Vietnam, Russia and Zimbabwe.

Yet, Cuba is conspicuously missing from its report. ...

Yet, the Obama Administration is encouraging banking transactions with Cuba's wholly state-owned, non-transparent banking system? The Obama Administration is authorizing dollar transactions abroad (U-turn) by Cuba's secretive banks?

The Obama Administration recruited a small, local, real-estate bank with no international experience, South Florida's Stonegate Bank, to open a correspondent account and handle transactions with Cuba's shady banks? ...

 Just recently, we had
noted how Cuba's Banco Financiero Internacional was now directly taken over (overnight) by Castro's military conglomerate, GAESA. This state-owned bank is solely empowered by the Castro regime to conduct commercial banking operations in convertible currencies. Virtually every foreign company and person engaged in business on the island must open an account in this bank. These are not "positive steps" as The White House's "echo chamber" likes to propagate.

Obama may be willing to sacrifice transparency and security for his "legacy," but regulators and other career officials that will outlast his presidency definitely should not." ..................

But which legacy? Rescuing the failing Iranian Revolution or rescuing the failing Cuban Revolution? Why not both?

NYSun: "Together with a 14th payment of just over $10 million, the grand total paid out by Treasury from the Judgment Fund on that single day, January 19, for claims pertaining to the State Department, comes to roughly $1.31 billion.

Treasury has provided no answers to my queries about whether these specific payments were for the Iran settlement. Nor why these transfers comprised 13 payments, each of which was a cent under $100,000,000. Nor whether the $10 million related to the same matter." ..........

Actually, it has been reported as $10.3 million, which would make it a nice little handling fee for Fidel's central bank, no?

Iran's diplomats are in Cuba even as we speak.

That would make this whole treasonous debacle an Iran-Contra Affair-in-Reverse, which is just what our President Reagan-in-Reverse would want.

Reagan left us stronger. Obama makes us weaker.
Reagan freed millions around the world. Obama sides with every Slave Power around the world.
Reagan really wanted the tortured hostages freed. Obama really wanted to lavish cash on the Ayatollah--the hostages were just the means.
Reagan sought to arm the anti-communists in Central America. Obama means to fund Castro's military dictatorship in Cuba.
Reagan wanted to accomplish two good things; freeing hostages and fighting communists. Obama seeks two evil purposes; funding Iranian terrorism and funding Cuban repression.
Reagan was grudgingly willing to give the Iranians some outdated weapons. Obama is enthusiastic about giving the Iranians the most deadly and sophisticated weapons in the world.
Reagan apologized that arms-for-hostages had become a ransom. Obama is still lying through his teeth about paying ransom.

You can pretend Obama is a well-meaning dupe if you need to. I don't. Jimmy Carter was a dupe. But at least he sent Delta Force to Iran. At least he banned hostile Iranians from getting visas instead of flooding the country with them. At least he demanded to speak to the Cuban people when he went there.

Obama demanded nothing for Cubans or Iranians, gave everything to the Castros and the Mullahs, and completely sold out the Cuban and Iranian peoples. This is true whatever central bank might have been used. And so is this; Barack Obama is the Toenail Fungus in the Gym Shoe of Freedom.

As Auric Goldfinger said at a Clinton Foundation fundraiser recently, "Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times, it's enemy action."

He's no dupe. He wasn't manipulated. He's not reckless. He's $winging for the Other Team.

Follow the money.

The Hazard of Dukes: Tired Old Lady, Tired Old Playbook

So some old crackers support Trump? Big deal. But if we're gonna' do this, let's name all the babies.

Hillary and Democrats are supported by cop-killers, mad bombers, Communists, drug lords, all classes of criminals, child molesters, perverts, deadwood bureaucrats, sleazy lawyers, traitors, dictators, oligarchs, racialists, Chinese weapons dealers, dead voters, Iranian sanctions violators, dirt-worshippers, baby-organ dealers, union goons, Islamic supremacists, terrorists and their sympathizers. Her husband is a One-Man Crime Wave against Women and she's his enforcer. The Confederate flag is so horrible that they flew one in their home, back when we were still shedding Jim Crow. Her chief of staff edits Dirty Jew Monthly, which supports honor killings as long as they are empowering and life-affirming, and female genital mutilation as long as its nurturing and inclusive. Just last month, Hillary gave a seat of honor to Taliban Dad, only a month after he sent his little Jihadi Junior out to slaughter a gay bar. Bill's the Father of the Korean Bomb and she's the Mother of the Iranian Bomb.

But...but...David Duke! Meh.

Sad!

Ban Hillary re-runs, not "Dukes of Hazzard" reruns!

You keep David, Granny--we'll take Daisy!

MNN, the Manufactured News Network: Is there Any Other Kind?

Hand-made In Small Batches and Cooked to Perfection in Our Own News-Kitchens!

*(Washington, D.C.) A State Department spokesman toady today cleared Hillary Clinton of any wrongdoing.

"There was no impropriety," State Department spokesman Mark Tonedef told reporters on Monday.

"This was simply, you know, evidence of the way the process works in that, you know, any secretary of state has aides who are getting e-mails or contacts by a wide variety of zillionaires, oligarchs and cronies. All of those donors got what they purchased. There was absolutely no fraud. It was honest, straightforward bribery and all parties involved were quite satisfied."

When reached for comment, Ms. Clinton turned off her defibrillator and said "Our Founding Fathers set up this wonderful system of government we have just so that I could charge the Crown Prince of Bahrain $32 million for an arms-sale meeting today. They were so wise...so very, very wise."

When asked for a response, the Founders released a statement saying, in part; "No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

*(Teheran, D.C.) President Obama said Wednesday he paid an additional $1.3 billion in interest to Iran in 13 separate payments of $99,999,999.99,  keeping the individual transactions under $100 million to avoid reporting requirements, even though the IRS routinely seizes assets for the same crime.

"This is the tried and true accounting practice favored by Denny Hastert and El Chapo," said the President. "We want the government to be as well-run as the private economies of child molesters and drug lords."

The amount was 13 cents short of $1.3 billion. "Although I didn't get Congressional approval for the big money, I pledge to seek their approval for the remaining 13 cents, just like our Founding Fathers would have wanted," said Obama. When reached for comment, the Founders replied, in part; “No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law.”

Asked why Iran wasn't paying us a plugged nickel for the Hostage Crisis, The Beirut Marine Barracks Bombing or for Iran's role in killing and maiming hundreds of our soldiers with IEDs, Obama replied “Department officials are in touch with a wide range of individuals. The department is regularly in touch with people across the whole spectrum. We feel confident in our ability and our past practice of reaching out to a variety of sources and being responsive. In other words, I'll take it up with them at our next regularly-scheduled Ransom Payment meeting.”

The president also admitted there was one further stipulation of the Ransom Deal.

"Gen. Soleimani of the Revolutionary Guard has demanded a federal job. I was thinking "He's a military guy--let's put him in charge of the VA!" Or maybe he would like to be in charge of Arlington--he's often expressed to me his strong desire to help even more of our soldiers visit there," said Obama to a stunned and silent room.

“Am I not speaking English? I mean, is it coming across as a foreign language? Now if you'll excuse me, we're supposed to meet with four Iranian ships in the Straits of Hormuz to make our next ransom drop.”

*(Der Fuhrerbunker, Chappaqua, NY) Hillary Clinton will receive her first national security briefing Saturday near her home in Chappaqua. The KGB will receive her first national security briefing in Moscow about 15 minutes later.

US Army's Security Risks
Granny Clinton emerged from her kitchen where she was baking cookies and wiping her server like with a dishcloth to face a sycophantic and tamed lap-dog press  skeptical and even hostile group of inquisitive reporters.

"I feel the pain of all those working moms who can't afford their Epi-Pens," said the candidate. "My medical handler tells me my anti-seizure Diazepam pens are very expensive, too--not to mention my Foley catheter supplies!  I call on Senator Manchin's daughter to lower the price and I demand the FDA stop their mysterious slow-walking on generic replacements. Or maybe she should meet me over at the Foundation for lunch. Nice market share you got there, lady; be a shame if something happened to it..."

*(Bent, OR) Democrat legislators have outlawed all coal-fired power plants by 2020 and will replace them with steam-powered plants.

"No, not 'steam-powered' plants--I said 'self-esteem'-powered plants," corrected Forrest Humper, High Preist of Oregon's Ministry of Energy and Good Vibes. "It just makes sense--we've got boatloads of self-esteem in Oregon just lying around doing nothing."

"At first, we'll have to buy most of our power from expensive out-of-state producers who will pinkie-swear that they got it from organic lightning-bugs. This is the highly successful model we learned from California's recalled Gov. Gray Davis," said Humper. "But after this transition period of uncertain brownouts, we will stabilize our supply and brownouts will become regularized and predictable."

Humper continued: "We've got our own Pacific Northwest "All-of-the-Above" Energy Policy; unicorn farts, Bigfoot droppings, Thunderbird gusts, aura readings, Feng shui, solar flares, saw grass, hammer grass, bong water-power, Buddhist drumming, hemp oil--check the gender fluid on your dipstick, people, because in Oregon, we're powered-up and rarin' to go!"

In other news, Oregon buggy whip futures rose unexpectedly.

*(Galapagos Islands, Oceania) At last, scientists conclusively prove evolution.

Present at Creation: "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor."
Second: "Depending on the plan you choose you may be able to keep your current doctor,"
Third: "To be certain your doctor is included in your plan's network, contact the plan."
Recently: All statements removed: "White House Office of Health Reform debunks the myth that reform will force you to change doctors."
Now: Insurance companies flee, exchanges close.

Verdict: Success of the Species!

*(Bus Stop, America) Donald Trump announced a radical new concept in American politics; he is going to obey and enforce the laws on immigration.

"That's extreme and reckless," said the Clinton campaign and her bootlick stenographers in the Media. "We can't have presidents just going around willy-nilly obeying and enforcing the laws that voters enacted through their representatives!"

"We are going to obey the existing laws. Now the existing laws are very strong," said Trump.
