"On second thought, maybe Nixon is entitled to a lawyer." |
Fausta 'splains Dilma's impeachment:
[WSJ] "Brazil’s populists blame falling oil prices, but the country’s goods exports, including oil, were only 10.5% of GDP in 2014. The real problem is the left-wing program of lax fiscal and monetary policy, rising protectionism, a complex tax system and huge regulatory state. When the economy collapsed, Ms. Rousseff broke the budget laws to save her presidency." .........
Back in the day, Richard Nixon, Atty. Gen. John Mitchell and other Nixon aides were fired because of their crooked Watergate actions.
And so was Hillary Clinton.
Hot Air, (2008):
"Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. Hillary got a job working on the investigation at the behest of her former law professor, Burke Marshall, who was also Sen. Ted Kennedy’s chief counsel in the Chappaquiddick affair. When the investigation was over, Zeifman fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman’s 17-year career.
Why?
“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman said in an interview last week. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.” .................
Fact Check: "Zeifman said, “Hillary Clinton is ethically unfit to be either a senator or president — and if she were to become president, the last vestiges of the traditional moral authority of the party of Roosevelt, Truman and Johnson will be destroyed.”
Specifically, Zeifman contends that Rodham and others wanted Richard Nixon to remain in office to bolster the chances of Sen. Ted Kennedy or another Democrat being elected president. ...Rodham [was] trying to gain enough votes on the Judiciary Committee to change House rules and deny counsel to Nixon.
In order to pull this off, Zeifman said that Rodham wrote a fraudulent legal brief, and confiscated public documents. After the Nixon impeachment investigation was finished, Zeifman fired Rodham and said he refused to give her a letter of recommendation. Zeifman said he regrets not reporting Rodham to the appropriate bar association." ................
The Kennedy manipulation for electoral advantage is what Ted did when he conspired with the Soviets against Reagan. And is the sort of Kennedy dirty tricks that made Nixon want to break into the Watergate in the first place. Irony. Layers.
The Clintons have been so crooked for so long that we can't even remember all the scandals, dirty deals and obstruction of justice anymore. It's like we've caught her amnesia--the press certainly has.
I can understand Comey not wanting to tilt an election. But the FBI was once able to investigate a sitting president, charge Nixon's aides, and force his resignation, with only a pardon saving him from charges himself. The Clinton Slime is rubbing off on previously trusted institutions.
Even the latest FBI document dump on a holiday weekend is a Clinton Trademark, a dirty pr trick to hide dirty truths perfected by the Clintons in the 1990's. They left the White House while selling pardons to Iran sanctions violators. Now we learn that she made $27 million selling Iran sanctions relief to Swedish companies out of the State Dept.--just one of her many bunko scams and workaday briberies.
We're regressing. We're going backwards, back to Credit Mobilier, the Teapot Dome and Boss Tweed-ism. Global Warming must be true; the Republic is now growing its own bananas.
An emerging country like Brazil is able to charge a crooked leading politician but after years of Clinton/Obama criminality, we can't even do that anymore.
Granny's amnesia has made us all Jason Bourne. Which reminds me; she also got our spies killed by choosing her secrets over our national interest.
We're supposedly the mature democracy, but Brazil remembers what we've forgotten.
