Imagine Admiral Yamamoto's fleet had miscalculated in December of 1941. Instead of destroying Pearl Harbor, they attacked Midway instead, inflicting only a small number of casualties. And America shrugged and went about business as usual.

That is the story of the 1993 World Trade Center attack by the Blind Sheik and his co-conspirators.

Because of their poor engineering and bomb-making skills--and only because of them--the Towers were spared and only a small number of Americans were butchered by this 7th-Century Death Cult.

If someone tried to kill you, and they came close but failed, would you then basically dismiss it? Yet that's what we did. Even though Andy McCarthy did a heroic job, this was really War, not Crime. And sending Sandy Berger into the National Archives to stuff the evidence of negligence down his pants was not the answer.

"Ramzi Yousef, (who was born as Abdul Basit Mahmoud Abdul Karim in Kuwait) spent time at an Al-Qaeda training camp in Afghanistan, before beginning in 1991 to plan a bombing attack within the United States. Yousef's uncle Khalid Shaikh Mohammed Ali Fadden, who later was considered the principal architect of the September 11 attacks, gave him advice and tips over the phone, and funded his co-conspirator Mohammed Salameh with a US$660 wire transfer.

Yousef arrived illegally in the United States on September 1, 1992, traveling with Ahmed Ajaj from Pakistan, though both sat apart on the flight and acted as though they were traveling separately. Ajaj tried to enter with a forged Swedish passport, though it had been altered and thus raised suspicions among INS officials at John F. Kennedy International Airport. When officials put Ajaj through secondary inspection, they discovered bomb-making instructions and other materials in his luggage, and arrested him. The name Abu Barra, an alias of Mohammed Jamal Khalifa, appeared in the manuals. Yousef tried to enter with a false Iraqi passport, claiming political asylum. Yousef was allowed into the United States, and was given a hearing date.

Yousef set up residence in Jersey City, New Jersey, traveled around New York and New Jersey and called Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, a controversial blind Muslim cleric, via cell phone. After being introduced to his co-conspirators by Abdel Rahman at the latter's Al-Farooq Mosque in Brooklyn, Yousef began assembling the 1,500 lb (680 kg) urea nitrate–hydrogen gas enhanced device for delivery to the WTC. He ordered chemicals from his hospital room when injured in a car crash – one of three accidents caused by Salameh in late 1992 and early in 1993." .......

Illegal immigration, Open Borders, fake passports, an Iraqi asylum-seeker committing terrorism, the use of mosques for war-planning--even bad driving! Probably in the service of insurance fraud.

And yet 24 years later an idiot federal judge just usurped the Commander-in-Chief's clear authority for himself.

• Bill Macko, age 57, General Maintenance Supervisor, Mechanical Section.
• Wilfredo Mercado, age 37, a receiving agent for Windows on the World restaurant.
• Monica Rodriguez Smith age 36, a secretary, who was seven months pregnant."

Pregnant? Then that makes seven Americans.

"At the time of the bombing, Smith was checking time sheets in her office on the B-2 level. Kirkpatrick, Knapp and Macko were eating lunch together in an employees' break room next to Smith's office. Mercado was checking in deliveries for the restaurant. And DiGiovanni was parking in the underground garage.

A granite memorial fountain honoring the victims of the bombing was designed by Elyn Zimmerman and dedicated in 1995 on Austin J. Tobin Plaza, directly above the site of the explosion. It contained the names of the six adults who were killed in the attack as well as an inscription that read: "On February 26, 1993, a bomb set by terrorists exploded below this site. This horrible act of violence killed innocent people, injured thousands, and made victims of us all."

No, we foolishly did that to ourselves.

And then we did it again.

We should have convened a military tribunal and hanged the black-hearted murderers as FDR did to Nazis. That would have spared the guards who were maimed, stopped the defense lawyers from spying and collaborating and spared dozens of tourists murdered at Luxor in an effort to free these well-versed savages.

But we buried our heads in the sand and repeated all the same mistakes again on Sept. 11, 2001. And  we've spent the last eight years making those mistakes mandatory, until we now have mobs at airports demanding unlimited visas for the next Blind Sheikh Gang, no questions asked.

We are not helping ourselves or Muslims win the civil war King Abdullah spoke of by pretending there isn't one. In fact, that only gets more people killed all around.

Enough. Enough wanton Death. Enough Death Cults. Enough Lies. Enough of the Blind blinding the blinded. That's enough innocent death for a lifetime. Lord, make the enemies Your footstool.
