The thousands of pages of newly uncovered records reveal sometimes granular detail about how Bill Clinton’s representatives directed the spending of taxpayer cash allocated by the GSA under the Former President’s Act.
The Act authorizes the GSA to fund the pensions, correspondence, support staff and travel of ex-presidents. It was passed in 1958 to “maintain the dignity” of the presidency by helping former commanders in chief avoid hard times like those that befell Harry S. Truman. He complained that, without help from Uncle Sam, he would be forced to “go ahead with some contracts to keep ahead of the hounds.” [Which he did not want to do out of respect for the office.-Ed.]

Bill Clinton's spokesman said the server was housed in the president’s Harlem office and was used for his presidential correspondence, not e-mails. Quote:

That's the problem, Jennifer; the Clinton's should end up like Harry Truman. Because he ended up as he began--with his honor intact.
The Clintons claim the GSA money was only used to help pay for the staffer who set up Hillary's Secret Server, not the server itself. And that they also requested money for bedbug removal. Now that, I believe.
I've been waiting for days to hear Democrats defend President Harry S. Truman.
And waiting. And waiting...
Hearing none, it falls to me, a Republican, but an American first, to defend the man from Missouri. This great man is being used as a human shield to protect the Clinton Crime Family. Since he famously said “The only thing new in the world is the history you do not know,” let's look at the historical record.
Harry Truman came out of the notorious Pendergast Machine in Kansas City--but emerged with his integrity intact:
COURIC: "How was he thrust into politics? Was it the Pendergast machine?
Mr. MCCULLOUGH: Yes. He came back from the war, and he had a following because in those days you went to war with the people from your own town, and he brought them all home safe and sound after being through the horrendous Battle of the Argon, one of the greatest, most awful battles of all time. And he was a natural for politics. So the Pendergast machine, which really ran Western Missouri, Jackson County, took him up as a good, good, honest fellow with a--with a war record and a following and made him county judge, which in--in Jackson County is really the equivalent of a county commissioner. And then he went to the Senate, and the Pendergast Organization was very powerful, notorious you might say, run by T.J. “Tom” Pendergast, and so Truman is a product of the boss era. He is literally a fellow who comes from the smoke-filled room.
COURIC: But was not corrupt himself?
Mr. MCCULLOUGH: No. As near as I can tell and as near as everyone who's examined this record can tell, he really was everything he said he was. And--and the people who knew him best--this includes people that I've interviewed from Independence and people who were with--with him in Washington in government--all speak of his fundamental decency and integrity as his--as being his most salient qualities." ........
From Pres. Truman's Library bio: "From 1905 to 1911, Truman served in the Missouri National Guard. When the United States entered World War I in 1917, he helped organize the 2nd Regiment of Missouri Field Artillery, which was quickly called into Federal service as the 129th Field Artillery and sent to France. Truman was promoted to Captain and given command of the regiment's Battery D. He and his unit saw action in the Vosges, Saint Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne campaigns. Truman joined the reserves after the war, rising eventually to the rank of colonel. He sought to return to active duty at the outbreak of World War II, but Army Chief of Staff General George C. Marshall declined his offer to serve.
On June 28, 1919, Truman married Bess Wallace, whom he had known since childhood. Their only child, Mary Margaret, was born on February 17, 1924. From 1919 to 1922 he ran a men's clothing store in Kansas City with his wartime friend, Eddie Jacobson. The store failed in the postwar recession. Truman narrowly avoided bankruptcy, and through determination and over many years he paid off his share of the store's debts. Truman was elected in 1922, to be one of three judges of the Jackson County Court. Judge Truman whose duties were in fact administrative rather than judicial, built a reputation for honesty and efficiency in the management of county affairs. He was defeated for reelection in 1924, but won election as presiding judge in the Jackson County Court in 1926. He won reelection in 1930. In 1934, Truman was elected to the United States Senate. He had significant roles in the passage into law of the Civil Aeronautics Act of 1938 and the Transportation Act of 1940. After being reelected in 1940, Truman gained national prominence as chairman of the Senate Special Committee to Investigate the National Defense Program. This committee, which came to be called the Truman Committee, sought with considerable success to ensure that defense contractors delivered to the nation quality goods at fair prices." ...
Truman left the presidency and retired to Independence in January 1953. For the nearly two decades of his life remaining to him, he delighted in being "Mr. Citizen," as he called himself in a book of memoirs. He spent his days reading, writing, lecturing and taking long brisk walks. He took particular satisfaction in founding and supporting his Library, which made his papers available to scholars, and which opened its doors to everyone who wished to have a glimpse of his remarkable life and career."

AND THE WHOLE GIVE 'EM HELL, HARRY, HARRY TRUMAN ON THE JOB, IN THE WHITE HOUSE, WITH HIS PEOPLE, THE LOWEST LEVEL OR THE HIGHEST LEVEL, NEVER GAVE ANYONE HELL. HE NEVER RAISED HIS VOICE. IF ANYTHING, HE IS REMEMBERED FOR BEING FOR -- FOR HOW CONSIDERATE HE WAS. AND FOR SMALL FAVORS AND COURTESIES HE WOULD DO."

Fred Schwarz: "When Truman left the presidency, he was unemployed; politics had been his only job for 30 years. Various companies offered him well-paid sinecures for the use of his name, but he turned them down and got to work writing his memoirs. A few years later, he had to ask Congress for money to pay his living expenses; back then, there was no legal provision to take care of ex-presidents, not even a pension."......
Look at Truman's record: volunteering and leading in combat, marrying faithfully, repaying debts, a reputation for honesty and efficiency in government, for kindness and humility, refusing to cash in on the office and retiring honorably.
Does any of this sound like the Clintons? Harry Truman's name shouldn't even be used in the same sentence as the Arkansas Grifters'.
And I haven't even touched on Truman's accomplishments; winning the war and using the Bomb to save American lives, desegregating the Armed Forces, establishing NATO, rebuilding Europe, stopping Communists from enslaving South Korea and recognizing Israel, to name but some.

Since Harry's no longer available to inflict a much-deserved public mule-whipping on the miscreant boy-man who succeeded him, or to chastise his consort, Mme. Ceaușescu of Chappaqua who hopes to, it's only fair that we give President Truman the last word:
