"Service members stationed at the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota received a text message ahead of the November 17 "Dakota Patriot Rally" warning them that attending the event in town could jeopardize their future with the United States military.
Leadership at the base said the issue with the event was that Tyler Bowyer from Turning Point Action, which they deemed to be an "alt-right" group, was slated to be there. The popular 501(c)(4) organization's chief operating officer had been listed on the rally's website as a "conservative activist."
"Leaders, please exercise caution if downtown this weekend," the text message read, according to Fox News, urging service members to "be careful" and suggesting that the crowd "could be confrontational to military members."
It went on to inform potential attendees that "participation with groups such as Turning Point Action could jeopardize their continued service in the US military."
"Turning Point has become accustomed to this type of treatment on college campuses, especially in California or New York, but for an unprovoked, unsolicited, unrelated communication this absurd and unhinged to come out of a North Dakota Air Force Base should be treated like a five alarm fire in the US military," TPAction spokesman Andrew Kolvet said in a statement to the Post Millennial. "Congress should investigate and find out what the hell is going on here."
In a statement to Fox News, the group defended itself and its leadership against claims they were "alt-right," saying TPAction is "a mainstream conservative organization and Tyler Bowyer is not some fringe personality—he's the COO of TPAction, an RNC committeeman from the state of Arizona, and one of the most accomplished political organizers in the country."
The spokesman also pushed back against the idea that the event would have been unsafe for service members, noting that attendees were "some of the US Military's most ardent supporters."
Most infuriating to TPAction, however, was the base's warning that associating with the group could be a punishable offense.
"How dare they dissuade servicemen and women from affiliating with conservative groups and leaders," the spokesman said. "This should set off alarm bells throughout North Dakota and DC, that something is terribly wrong at the Minot Air Force base. This also warrants an immediate congressional hearing and investigation, and whoever is responsible should be held accountable. It's exactly this type of poison that has caused the Air Force to miss its recruiting goal for the first time in decades."" .......

Air Force Backtracks From Warning Members to Avoid a Conservative Political Rally – RedState
"The electrons on the Facebook post had hardly cooled when North Dakota's Kevin Cramer was on the phone with Air Force Chief of Staff David Allvin.
U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), spoke with Chief of Staff of the Air Force General David Allvin regarding Minot Air Force Base’s biased and misguided official communication warning Airmen against participating in the Dakota Patriot Rally held in Minot on Friday, November 17. The rally celebrated traditional conservative values, yet the Air Force message labeled the organizers as “alt-right” and stated participation “could jeopardize their continued service in the U.S. military.”
During their conversation, General Allvin described the sequence of events which led to the misinformation and stated Minot Air Force Base issued an internal correction 52 minutes after the message was sent. However, Minot Air Force Base did not issue a statement on its official website and Facebook page until Tuesday at 2:19 p.m. Eastern time, four days later.
Senator Cramer believes the base should have made the correction on its official channels right away instead of waiting until mainstream media issued a story. He remains frustrated with the extreme, left-leaning political activism alive in the Department of Defense and is concerned with the military’s inability to prioritize warfighting.
The base issued a correction.
Minot Air Force Base is aware that an unofficial message about a local event in the City of Minot was sent in a text message group. The message was based on incorrect data and sent outside of official base messaging platforms. Once the error was identified, base security officials corrected the message traffic to categorize the event as a local political fundraiser, with no security concerns. Further, the updated message communicated there were no issues with military members participating in their personal capacity – in line with their First Amendment rights. All Air Force Airmen have a Constitutional right to freedom of assembly. That said there are some limitations placed on an Airman’s ability to participate in political events in an official capacity. These limitations are set by ethical guidelines in the Code of Federal Regulations in order to maintain the politically neutral stance of the US Military. [YOU violated that stance, bitches--not airmen! -Ed.]
What is missing from the statement is any reference to the slandering of Turning Point Action or their speaker, leaving that lie to remain. The last two sentences seem calculated to muddy the waters about the propriety of airmen attending the event.
In short, this is a "sorry, not sorry" statement and leads one to believe that the Facebook post may have accurately reflected the views of installation leadership." .......
US soldier slams Biden admin over Afghanistan gear (americanmilitarynews.com)
A United States Army soldier, who recently separated from the service, spoke out against the Biden administration and claimed he was ordered pay for military gear that he was forced to leave behind during the chaotic and deadly Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021.
According to Newsweek, the former soldier shared his story Monday on TikTok, claiming that it was the official gear turn-in day after completing roughly four years of active duty service in the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. The soldier, who is known as “Brock” on TikTok, said the gear turn-in process made him want to “holler,” “scream,” and “yell.”
While the soldier’s initial TikTok video had been removed from the social media platform by Tuesday morning, the video remained on other platforms, including a post on X, formerly Twitter, by the conservative account “Libs of TikTok.”
“Two years ago, my unit was deployed to Afghanistan for the Afghanistan withdrawal,” the soldier stated in the video. “We spent a few weeks over there. It was hectic, it was chaotic, it was disgusting, and it made me very disappointed in our government. Today, I’m reminded how disappointed I am in our government.”
“They want to charge me $500 to $1,000 for gear I was ordered to leave in Afghanistan two years ago because as the last two birds were sitting on the tarmac ready to leave, there wasn’t any room for extra gear, extra weight,” the soldier continued. “Therefore, we were told to leave it. Some lower-level dudes, including myself, were like, ‘No, this stuff is expensive. I’m not leaving this. I’m gonna get charged for this when it’s time to leave.'”
While the former soldier claimed that his superiors assured him that he would not be charged for the abandoned gear in Afghanistan, he said the Army had still charged him personally for the missing gear, which he said cost somewhere between $500 and $1,000.
As he continued his story, the former soldier blasted the Biden administration for giving millions of dollars to the Taliban, providing billions of dollars in military aid to Ukraine, canceling billions of dollars of student debt, and giving “stupid stimulus checks” to U.S. citizens, while refusing to cover “$500 to $1,000 for a dude that left gear in Afghanistan.”
“The government is so stinking backward right now, man,” he said. “This administration’s last priority is the American people, and inside of the American people, their last priority is their soldiers, their airmen, their Marines, their Navy.”
The former soldier shared that while he initially thought his gear turn-in day would be “bittersweet,” the “sad” way the military handled his case resulted in him being “happy to separate” from the military under the Biden administration.
“I’m very excited to stop serving my government and just getting started serving my country,” he said.
At the end of the video, the former soldier displayed a sheet of paper with the total cost of his military gear, various items, and services totaling $3,561.26.
The former soldier expressed his gratitude for anyone who would be willing to help him raise the funds necessary to cover the cost of his final gear turn-in, explaining that he was humbling himself for the sake of his family." .......
