Quebec has always been the most extreme socialist province. By far the most compliant and obedient to government. I was born in Montreal and moved away decades ago. I could go into extensive detail about language and culture, but that wouldn’t be a nice way to start the new year.

Suffice it to say that the population has been cowed and intimidated by provincial language laws since the seventies, and are conditioned to be obedient.

There was only one Anglophone who actually agressvely challenged these laws, Howard Galganov. He too couldn’t endure things and moved away some years ago. He has a web site under his name.

Sadly, my mom passed away in Montreal last month and I couldn’t travel for the funeral, or attend even if I was able to be there because of being non compliant. When relatives found out about my status, their tones changed, and even under sad circumstances I had to engage in verbal exchanges going into detail. Even with one who is a doctor. But anything contrary to the party line makes no impression at all.

I fear that all of Canada will go the way of Europe and Australia soon. You have no idea how much worse it is in Canada than in many states.
