Col. Rick Rescorla Finally Receives His Presidential Citizens Medal

A Veteran's Day

“I don’t want you to cry. I have to evacuate my people now. If something happens to me, I want you to know that you made my life.”

America–the nation that attracted a Rick Rescorla, a citizen-soldier who understood completely the lesson of the first WTC attack when no one else wanted to.

He died in harness, pulling others to life.

As he saved them, he told them “This is a day to be proud to be an American."

And it still is.
