Biden Administration Junta Orders Ideological Purge Of U.S. Military Academies (thefederalist.com)
"Consistent with the totalitarian left’s effort to control curricula down to the grade-school level, their latest effort targets the education of America’s future military leaders at the service academies: The U. S. Military Academy at West Point, the Naval Academy at Annapolis, and the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
"This is not happening by accident. And there is no greater danger to the country than this effort to politicize the military by ensuring that all officers hew to the political party line of this administration.
Lloyd Austin announced he was suspending the Boards of Visitors for West Point, the Air Force Academy, and the Naval Academy, along with those of 39 other DOD advisory boards. This suspension of operations was to take place “immediately,” pending completion of what Austin called a “Zero-Based Review” of the boards. This was to include recommendations of “changes to mission or functions, membership balance,[and] membership size.”
Although the service academies’ Boards of Visitors’ operations were suspended, their membership was retained, at least temporarily. Austin could not fire the members of their boards because they are appointed, by statute, by congressional leadership and the president. That purge would have to come later, as it now has."".......

"The political threat of the military to the Party dictatorship was most succinctly expressed by Mao Tse-Tung: “Our Principle is to have the Party control the gun, and never allow the gun to control the Party.” Then what was the Soviet solution for ensuring total dominance of the military by the Party? The creation of a dual chain of military and political command throughout the armed forces, paralleling the military hierarchy from battalion to the Ministry of Defense, was established by appointing a political “deputy” commander for each military commander.
These “commissars,” as they were first called, exercised specific official and unofficial control functions over their military command counterparts. The political officers also served to further Party interests with the masses of drafted soldiery of the USSR by indoctrination in Marxist-Leninism.
While the zampolit wore the same uniform as other Soviet officers, he was not on the same career path as a regular officer. Devoted Communists selected for special schools and training entered the army as commissioned political workers. The Main Political Directorate (MPA), a part of both the Communist Party structure and the Ministry of Defense structure, controlled their selections and assignments to the political organs and positions. Suvorov described the zampolit thus: "He wears a uniform … but the extent of his success or failure is not dependent upon the judgements of military commanders. He is a man of the Party. The Party appointed him to his post and can promote or dismiss him: he is accountable only to it.”"

They want Big Tech monopolies that will do their political censorship for them.

They want election officials that will steal democracy.
And now they want a military that looks like America. If, by "America", you mean Jonestown.

This is their goal: Military Service Academies that will produce a thousand Rolfes, officers who will one day turn their backs on their own families and neighbors to blow the whistle for the Regime.

As Europe slides downhill, he's caught up in the vortex, and morphs into a young party member. Caught while escaping the Installation of the New Regime, Christopher Plummer as Herr Von Trapp takes Rolfe's pistol away, saying "You'll never be one of them", trying to remind him of who he once was. His pride hurt, Rolfe blows the whistle on the family anyway, the family that might have once been his very own, informing even on the girl he once loved.As we watched The Sound of Music while growing up safe and warm in the cocoon of Middle Class America, we could not imagine a fascist tyranny taking hold here. That was always someone else, another time, and 'over there'.Alas, over there is here, the time is now and the someone else is us.
