Corey Comperatore, 50, was killed Saturday night while trying to protect his wife and daughter in the moments after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire.
‘He’s my hero,’ his wife, Helen Comperatore, told the New York Post. ‘He just said “Get down!” That was the last thing he said.’
President Biden has since tried to offer the Comperatore family his sympathies, but Helen said she did not want to hear from him.
‘I don’t talk to Biden,’ she said. ‘I didn’t want to talk to him. My husband was a devout Republican and he would not have wanted me to talk to him,’ she explained.” …….
