Small town life is no longer isolated and removed. Access to everything is possible. The very bright and ambitious no longer have to live deracinated lives to fulfill themselves. They can do that and still have a home place.

President Trump makes a statement from his Truth Social account that all trade negotiations with Canada are immediately terminated following the Canadian government purchasing ads to lie to the American people about tariffs.

While I don't doubt the commercial was highly manipulated, Pres. Reagan was indeed generally against tariffs. Of course, he was also against the Chinese Communists owning Canada, not to mention the Clinton and Obiden Oval Offices.
He accepted the Milton Freidman Libertarian line that corporations don’t pay taxes, only individuals, including customers, just like he once viewed abortion as a Libertarian issue, before he realized it was a Life and Death issue for God.
He viewed tariffs as another “big tax” and accepted the myth that Smoot-Hawley caused the Great Depression.
The Great Depression was actually deliberately caused by the Globalist Oligarchy to transfer Power and Wealth to themselves, which has been on display ever since. Know this: The Fed is doomed, the Gold Standard will be restored and the External Revenue Service will replace the Infernal one.
Pres. Reagan, though a Second Amendment supporter, did not like military-grade weapons for civilians, but he came from a more genteel time before the Deep State sponsored mass shootings.
He was not Open Borders but he was Open Doors. He loved America so much, he could empathize with those who wanted to love Her, too. The Left wants Open Borders because they hate America–big difference.
