Chop-Chop Acosta's Day Off

The Good News: Jim Gets His Hard Pass Back!

The Bad News: The Georgetown Jiu Jitsu Association has stripped "Hai Karate" Acosta of his Bantam-Weight Belt for "fighting like a girl. With a girl.".

"Dear Diary,

Let this be a lesson to any other teen-age girls: do NOT get between me and my microphone!"

Althouse: How Trump won the Acosta lawsuit.: "You don't alway win by winning. That's too easy. The genius move is to win by losing. … The judge framed it as a matter of process, which justifies Trump issuing a set of rules of decorum. …Any complaints about these rules and the prescribed consequences of violating them can be met with pieties about adhering to the judge's ruling. Things must be done in an orderly way — in the press room and in a system of due process. Any complaints premised on freedom of the press will be met with statements like "We want total freedom of the press" and we want perfect due process. So here you are, here's notice of our rules of decorum. And that should be the end of the kind of questioning Acosta has become famous for. Trump wins." …….

Put President Trump and Kato Acosta aside for a moment.

While President Trump is indeed the political winner, this is a Separation of Powers issue.

A member of the Judicial Branch cannot decide who has access to the physical seat of the Executive Branch any more than a president could hand out passes to the judges' chambers.

I hope the Executive Branch presses this issue. The Robes have gotten way too big for their yoga pants. It's our Constitution, not theirs, and federal power was split to protect all of us from the Feddle Gummint.

Now let's play a game called "Who Said It? President Trump...or the Mayor of Tijuana?"

Daily Caller: "Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum said Thursday that caravan migrants arriving by the hundreds are no longer welcome, an increasingly common sentiment among residents of the Mexican border city.

Gastelum described the caravan of Central American migrants as a “horde” that has been infiltrated by criminals who now threaten the community, in an interview with Milenio Television.

“Tijuana is a city of immigrants, but we don’t want them in this way,” the mayor, a member of the conservative National Action Party, said. “It was different with the Haitians, they carried papers, they were in order. It wasn’t a horde, pardon the expression.”

Gastelum called on the Mexican government to deport the caravan migrants as soon as possible.

“You’re going to tell me we have to respect human rights,” he said. “But human rights are for law-abiding humans.”" ...….

Which is kind of odd.

Because at the Acosta Lecture Series where he first lost his pass, Jim "The Manhandler" Acosta informed the President that this was not an invasion.

Weird.
