The Sum of All Beers

Fear-Mongering and Beer-Mongering

"There's no such thing as "sustainable" development. Human progress and individual liberty have advanced on the backs of one unsustainable development after another: When we needed trees for heating and transportation, we chopped 'em down. Then we discovered oil, and the trees grew back. When the oil runs out, we won't notice because our SUVs will be powered by something else. Bet on human ingenuity every time. We're not animals, and it's a cult as deranged as the screwiest fringe religion to insist we are. Earth's most valuable resource is us."--Mark Steyn, 'The Masses Have Amassed Too Much'

Watts Up With ThatPresident Trump Admin Claims Fourth National Climate Assessment Was Rigged To Produce Bad Outcomes

"President Trump’s administration has struck back at the Fourth National Climate Assessment, claiming that the report was rigged to disregard reasonable responses to warmer temperatures:

(Reuters) White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters said the new report was “largely based on the most extreme scenario, which contradicts long-established trends by assuming that…there would be limited technology and innovation, and a rapidly expanding population.”

The government’s next update of the National Climate Assessment, she said, “gives us the opportunity to provide for a more transparent and data-driven process that includes fuller information on the range of potential scenarios and outcomes.”

We’ve seen this kind of baseless scaremongering before, like with the “End of Beer” story which was floating around a month ago.

As the Brewers Association pointed out, a key flawed assumption with the “end of beer” prediction was that farmers would attempt no adaption whatsoever to changed circumstances, they would keep attempting to grow Barley in exactly the same way as today with no attempt to change growing regions or planting times to match the new temperature range. ...

It is easy to predict bad outcomes, if you rig the report process to ignore other possibilities."...….
Although Warm Beer can be a problem, the End of Beer already occurred; it's called "closing time".

Don Surber: "Most of the turtles were migrating when the weather changed. While some say climate change is pushing the turtles north, more likely it is overpopulation which forces animals to travel outside their traditional ranges.

My heart goes out to Bob Prescott, director of the Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife sanctuary, and his staff and volunteers who worked even on Thanksgiving to save the sea turtles. They have devoted their lives to these creatures, only to be unable to save all of them on a cold, wintry weekend.

But can we give this global warming nonsense a rest?

Not one prediction has come true. Carbon dioxide was supposed to melt the ice, not create it."...….

Even if you believe like Jerry Brown that breathing is pollution, whatever miniscule "gains" were made in California were just wiped out by their tree-hugging wildfire policy.

"Californians are being tragically reminded that the abstract ideologies of a few impose life-and-death consequences on millions."--Victor Davis Hanson
There are so many bad things about the Global Warming Hoax, it's hard to list them all, but they include hurting the economy (which impacts peoples' health) and the corruption of the Scientific Method, which like corrupt jurisprudence, starts with the result and works backwards to the "facts".

But one of the worst things about pouring billions down a Make-Believe Climate Rat-Hole so some Eurocrat bureaucrat can afford to take two mistresses to the Riviera next summer  instead of just one, is that the money could be used instead for real, actual programs, such as this animal rescue, or habitat protection or clean-up of plastics in the oceans. And not on lowering temperatures by a fraction. Of a fraction. Of a fraction. Of a degree. A century from now. Maybe.

We are blessed to have a president who has withdrawn us from an Illegal (and expensive!) One-Man Treaty which Hamilton and the Framers banned. He has almost single-handedly made America the world leader in energy production.

"You're welcome."
