Can you hear a single Democrat condemning Ms. Lucas, or —even if judgment must be momentarily withheld under the presumption of innocence— making it clear as a general rule that the party will not tolerate lawbreakers? Or any Democrat stressing (this year) that no one is above the law, or that anyone in Ms. Lucas’s position must be held to a high standard?
No, you don’t hear that. Because it isn’t there. The phrase “no one is above the law” is a distant echo from times not so long past. That rule only applies to Republicans, anyway. Now the universal refrain has become, “no one this close to an election.” …
Behold: politics über alles, the promotion of ideology over every other consideration, the politicization of being, of everything, everywhere, all at once. Mussolini once said, “Tutto nello Stato, niente al di fuori dello Stato, nulla contro lo Stato.” In short: “Everything within the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State.”
That is how communism works, purely and simply. But be encouraged! A great purge is under way, a vomitous reflex where the nation’s body is at long last spewing up the poison that was slowly killing it.
Finally, let’s soak in the beauty inherent in this tragi-comic arc. I made sarcastic boomerang jokes about “no one is above the law.” That is a great story. Hubris, meet Nemesis, and so forth. But don’t miss the greater story. This tsunami of Democrat arrests would have been politically impossible had President Trump not himself been arrested first.
It travels far beyond irony. It borders on the miraculous. The real fruit of President Trump’s long-suffering sacrifices has become evident only now, in hindsight.

Thoughts About Ilhan What’s-Her-Name › American Greatness--Roger Kimball:
"...That DHSI raid was an eyebrow-raising event. But really, at this point, the news was almost superfluous. Indeed, we have had Ilhan’s number at least since 2016, back when she was running for a seat in Minnesota’s state government. It was then that Powerline’s Scott Johnson first polished his magnifying glass and began, terrier-like, to follow the trail of this incestuous fraudster. Johnson recently released a compilation of research, originally put together by David Steinberg and published on X, about Ilhan. Their work was supplemented in 2020 with an excellent book by Benjamin Weingarten called American Ingrate.
Careful readers will note that I have thus far omitted to disclose the surname of this infamous Ilhan. That is because, until recently, we have been misled about that. Weingarten repeats the name she has been known by in his subtitle: “Ilhan Omar and the Progressive-Islamist Takeover of the Democratic Party.” But while he accurately describes the effect of Ilhan’s political activities, it is no longer certain that we can rightly address her as “Omar.” Really, it now seems she should be known as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi.” That, anyway, is how the Department of Justice addressed her in a recent filing.
And who is this “Nur Said Elmi”? Why, that would be Ilhan’s second husband, the man she married in 2019. It is also overwhelmingly likely that he is her brother. How overwhelmingly? Five years ago, Miranda Devine noted that DNA test results showed that there was a “99.999998 percent chance” that said Nur Said Elmi was not only Ilhan’s second husband but also her brother. Devine also pointed out that “a few hours before we went to press, my informant was arrested by Biden’s FBI. Funny that.” Yes, hilarious. Recently asked point blank whether she had married her brother, Ilhan said “not to my knowledge,” a response worthy of Bill Clinton.
If you are awake, then you know that Ilhan’s irregular habits about saying “I do” are the tip of the proverbial iceberg. There is also the matter of her immigration status. She applied to come to this country from Somalia as a child. But now there are credible allegations that she was in fact an adult when she applied to come to this country and that someone altered her application to show that she was still 17. If true—and I am willing to take bets on it—then she is in deep trouble. As legal scholar John Yoo pointed out, “The minute that it’s discovered that she either filed false naturalization papers or was part of a conspiracy to do so, she’s not a citizen, and she has to be ejected from Congress immediately, and she really was never legitimately elected to Congress for the last few years.”
Remember all of those “Learning Centers” in Minneapolis, the fake government-funded (i.e., taxpayer-funded) organizations that were just fronts for Somali fraud? Thanks to Nick Shirley and others, we know that the ticket for that systematic fraudulent activity was some 9 billion-with-a-“B” dollars. Extra credit question: who is the congressional representative for Minneapolis? Yes, that’s right, it’s our girl Ilhan.
If you can’t get enough scandal about her, try searching for “Ilhan wine fraud” or “Ilhan tax fraud.” If that is not enough, try looking into her family’s activities in Somalia. It turns out that both her father and grandfather were high-ranking military officials in the regime of Siad Barre, which killed more than 100,000 people in the infamous Isaaq genocide.
The foundation for these revelations was laid largely by Scott Johnson. As he notes in a prelude to the compilation mentioned above, already in 2019,
there was probable cause to believe that Omar had committed a wide variety of criminal misconduct. At the time, Omar’s role in creating the circumstances leading to the Feeding Our Future fraud—a case which resulted in the 2025 conviction of her close relative/campaign worker and U.S. taxpayer funds being sent to Al-Shabaab terrorists in Somalia—had not yet occurred, nor had her substantial financial disclosure “accounting error.”
Reports of her campaign’s links to the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood’s “open secret” of widespread vote-buying among Somalis . . . were still few. And the assertion did not include my January 24, 2019 story . . . on the remarkable national security risk of her sister Sahra Noor’s husband. . . . For a decade, every Democratic Party figure and member of the media who denigrated these articles lied to you. Either they lied about the quality and scale of evidence, or they lied about having performed due diligence. By October 2020, perhaps a hundred items of evidence with only one rational reason to exist had been made public. As of October 2026, no public evidence beyond Omar’s denial supports Omar’s story. We are beyond reasonable doubt.
Naturally, the Dems are pushing the narrative that Ilhan’s current woes are all because mean old Donal the fact that, as Jonathan Turley and others have pointed out, the DOJ began investigating aspects of her case under Joed Trump doesn’t like her and is pursuing her as a matter of partisan lawfare. That conveniently omits Biden." .......
Except, unlike PDT, when the BidenReich DoJ investigated friendlies, it was to keep them under political control.
