Naturally the team behind it would be the "geek squad." The campaign would be celebrated for its "Big Data Brains." The media would applaud these "digital wizards" at the "forefront of campaign technology."
That, of course, was the praise heaped on Barack Obama's 2012 reelection campaign. It wasn't nefarious for Obama to have the head of Google recruiting talent, choosing technology, and coaching Obama's campaign manager. Nor for Facebook to be on their "side."
But when a consulting firm—not even the Trump campaign itself—does essentially the same thing, and a Republican wins the White House? "Launch a criminal investigation!" "Mark Zuckerberg must testify!" "Regulate social media!" "Delete your Facebook!"
While the Obama campaign had a database that was a "powerful tool," Cambridge Analytica was "harvesting" your personal info.
"Target sharing" became "data abuse."
Data went from being "crunched" to "stolen."
Facebook went from the "ideal way" to reach voters to being "weaponized."
Genius became "evil genius."
What changed? It's almost as if the media think everything Democrats do is virtuous, and everything Republicans do is nefarious.
The Obama 2012 campaign had a "massive computer database containing personal data on millions of American voters." They used "sophisticated computer programs" to mine data from social media.
"Anybody who contacted the campaign through Facebook had their friends and ‘likes' downloaded," NBC News explained, in nonjudgmental terms. "If they contacted the campaign website through mobile apps, cellphone numbers and address books were downloaded. Computer ‘cookies' captured Web browsing and online spending habits."
In fact, Obama's "geek squad" had been using cookies to track its own supporters’ online behavior since 2008.".......

David Harsanyi: "The theory goes something like this: Facebook obtained information on users who took a personality quiz with their online friends. Another outlet, Cambridge Analytica, harvested that information to brainwash a bunch of rubes, and then yada, yada, yada … Russia! Senators are now demanding executives come forth and answer questions. Investigations must be open. Democracy is under threat.
Eitan Hersh @eitanhersh: “Let’s start with fb data, use it to predict personalities, then use that to predict political views, and then use that to figure out messages and messengers and just the right time of a campaign to make a lasting persuasive impact” ...sounds like a failed PhD prospectus to me."
Yet, on the most obvious level, Cambridge Analytica is another story about double standards. The only consistent position the Left seems to take these days is that the mechanisms they use to keep power automatically transform into something nefarious and un-democratic when the opposition use them.
By constantly using the word “breach,” for instance, reporters are trying to insinuate that someone stole voter data that typically is off limits. Cambridge Analytica was allowed to pull that profile data. Facebook only changed its policy in early 2015. But then Trump campaign dropped Cambridge Analytica before the general election for the RNC data, reportedly never using the any of the “psychographic” information. According to CBS News, in Sept. 2016, it had “tested the RNC data, and it proved to be vastly more accurate.”
Even if they hadn’t, however, their efforts would have been akin to those being heralded as revolutionary when it served the interests of Democrats. Facebook, in fact, allowed the Obama campaign to data harvest in the same way that is now generating headlines and handwringing.  Do you remember any outrage and trepidation over privacy and manipulation of your thoughts in 2012? If anything, there should be outrage that a massive social media company allowed one party to do things that it forbade another.".......

The Obama Campaign: "Facebook was surprised we were able to suck out the whole social graph, but they didn’t stop us once they realized that was what we were doing. They came to office in the days following election recruiting & were very candid that they allowed us to do things they wouldn’t have allowed someone else to do because they were on our side."

Fakebook--not to mention Twitter, YouTube and Google--can spy, lie, defund, de-platform, shadow-ban and censor conservatives all day long without a peep from Official Washington.

Good. If that's what it takes to haul this smarmy crowd of internet rent-seekers, backstairs crawlers and speech-controllers before the klieg lights, I'm all for it.

Zuckerberg says he's open to regulation. That's because he sees how the regulated insurance companies are lining up before Congress for a $30 billion payout even as we speak.

While he's at it, maybe Zuckerberg can explain why he's been dumping stock like an Equifax executive. Haul all of these Internet Utility companies up there and let them defend their corrupt and biased business models.

"You Are Being Replaced" by Martin Sellner

"During his confinement at Heathrow, Martin Sellner wrote the speech the UK "Border Force" would not permit him to give. It was read by Tommy Robinson at Speakers' Corner in London last Sunday. I can see nothing in it that in a free country should attract the attention of the authorities - although I appreciate that its message is unsettling: the preferred tone in the respectable prints is that of Harry Mount here, marveling that the world of his witty, civilized, North London dinner parties can co-exist with the world of Somali stabbings a mere seventy yards away, and that these two worlds somehow never intersect. Which is not something a white English working-class schoolgirl in Telford would be quite so breezy about.
Herr Sellner's speech is plainer-spoken, yet temperate and sobering. It is also withering about the state of free speech in a land that did much to spread the concept around the globe and is now in the forefront of destroying it. As evidence of that, a fourth person was deported from Britain merely because a copy of this speech was found in his luggage. So I reproduce it here because I think our UK readers should be interested to hear what an allegedly conservative government will not allow them to hear. Perhaps one day it will be as famous as, say, Martin Luther King's letter from Birmingham Jail. Or perhaps the enablers and appeasers of Islamic supremacism will do such a thorough job that no trace of Herr Sellner's existence will remain in Austria or anywhere else in Europe:

I assume you all are lovers of free speech because you have come to Speakers' Corner.
You might not understand all the fuss happening today around this speech. Honestly, I don't understand it either.

This is what I wanted to speak about in Autumn. But the conference was cancelled due to threats from the radical left. The venue would not take the risk. So they rescheduled it for March, this time keeping the venue secret — but again the terror of the left prevailed, and the venue dropped out.
But this time I did not want to let them win! It was about principles! (Also, our flights were already booked.)
My last refuge was Speakers' Corner. I remembered my mother telling me about that special place when I was a child. It seemed almost magical to me. A place where everyone, without exception, could just stand on a box and start to speak to those who wanted to listen. I have always loved this tradition of Speakers' Corner, which seemed very British to me.
But I came only to see that this tradition — the tradition of freedom of speech in the United Kingdom — is dead.
Your Country is blocking you from challenging ideas from the outside. This is a disgrace to our democracy!
I should be speaking in a neat, warm conference room right now, and you should be sitting in comfortable chairs. Instead, I'm in my cell and you are on the street in a standoff with the enemies of freedom of speech.
And this is very telling! Today there is a war going on for our freedom of speech. This war is being fought on the streets, by you!
Every man and woman showing her face today, standing shoulder to shoulder, is standing up against a new totalitarianism that has been growing for far too long. You can be proud of yourself. You might not even agree with me on every point — you are simply giving a statement that I should have the right to speak my mind freely.

Who of you in this very moment was faced with the decision between speaking his mind and facing problems, or complying and staying silent?
Raise your hands and be honest.
I will not be able to see the results, but every single hand is too much. This amount of fear should not exist in a society. Speech that has social costs and severe consequences is no longer free. It has a price — and our Government and the Antifa are working everyday to raise that price.
No freedom of speech means no democracy. In front of our very eyes this country is becoming a tyranny, shutting all debates about immigration down, until demographics solves the issue by replacement. People of the UK. I might be in a cell right now, but you all are in a cell. It's the prison of fear and silence your government and the PC tyranny has locked you in since the days of your childhood.

People of the UK — remember who you are! Remember your glorious past, you are sons and daughters of knights, kings, explorers, philosophers and artists. Who is the sovereign in this country?
Is it big money?

America's Word Was Never Given, Gen. Mattis

A Dishonorable Deal

Gen. Mattis on the Iran Deal:

“I think it is an imperfect arms control agreement — it's not a friendship treaty. But when America gives her word, we have to live up to it and work with our allies.”

I agree completely. But America never gave her word.

Barack Hussein Obama illegitimately gave his word, not America. In fact, America was specifically prevented from giving her word.

America "gives her word" on treaties through the Senate's Advise and Consent power. The Constitution requires senators, two from each state, to agree by a two-thirds vote for the specific purpose that our word as a nation is broad-based, authentically given as a nation. Not on the whim of single tin-pot basketball bracketeer.

Obama subverted that authentic national consent by calling this Treaty an "Executive Agreement". It is, in fact, a One-Man Diktat, a Dear Leader-style subversion of the Constitution never before seen in this Republic.

Furthermore, Obama conspired with Iran, Russia and other foreign entities to lie to the American people about the terms of this Pre-Emptive and Unconditional Surrender--and the lying is still underway to this very moment.

And if I'm not mistaken, it is an "Executive Agreement" not even signed by Iran's executive, essentially making it a deal Obama cut with Obama. Perfect.

And then handed to his Ayatollah as a gift.

There was not even simple majority support in the Senate for this madness, let alone the super-majority support envisioned by the Framers. This is why we take an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign, domestic and Kenyan.

America is not obligated because America never consented.

In fact, America was prevented from giving her word...until she finally got to speak on Election Day 2016. And again in a 2020 LANDSLIDE.

Those election results are America’s word on the subject, and that is what should be honored." ............


The so-called "Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action" is not about "action", but paralysis, meant to paralyze the West until Iran gets nukes.

It is "comprehensive" only in ensuring that Iran has everything it needs to achieve that goal.

And the "Joiners" are the UN, the European Union, the Mullahs, the Iranian parliament, a rogue president and his minority rump party--all of whom Americans never consented to have represent them in a Treaty.

And calling a Treaty an "Executive Agreement" is like calling a bank robbery "an unauthorized overdraft".

Of course, Obama front-loaded the Deal to box in America, not Iran. He gave Iran all the carrots and America all the sticks.

Spiritually, this was a act of submission by hadji Obama to his Ayatollah, signifying a Pre-Emptive Surrender of America to Islam, complete with the payment of a massive Jizya Tax.

And like Hitler's Nuremberg Laws, it was meant to be a dagger to the heart of the Jewish people.

That's how we got here. So now what?

Gen. Votel: "From my perspective, the JCPOA [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] addresses one of the principal threats that we deal with from Iran. So, if the JCPOA goes away, then we will have to have another way to deal with the nuclear weapons program."

That's just it. It does not address the threat. The Iranians pretend to comply and we pretend they are complying. Pretending is the opposite of dealing with it.

They are allowed to self-inspect. What little verification there might exist is done by others who do not have our security as their primary motive.

What will we say to the North Koreans when they say "We'll take the same deal you gave the Iranians!", General?

President Trump has a plan,too:

The enormous financial windfall the Iranian regime received because of the deal—access to more than $100 billion, including $1.8 billion in cash—has not been used to better the lives of the Iranian people. The Iranian people know this, which is one reason why so many have taken to the streets to express their outrage.
Despite my strong inclination, I have not yet withdrawn the United States from the Iran nuclear deal. Instead, I have outlined two possible paths forward: either fix the deal’s disastrous flaws, or the United States will withdraw.
I am open to working with Congress on bipartisan legislation regarding Iran. But any bill I sign must include four critical components.
First, it must demand that Iran allow immediate inspections at all sites requested by international inspectors.
Second, it must ensure that Iran never even comes close to possessing a nuclear weapon.
Third, unlike the nuclear deal, these provisions must have no expiration date. My policy is to deny Iran all paths to a nuclear weapon—not just for ten years, but forever.
If Iran does not comply with any of these provisions, American nuclear sanctions would automatically resume.
Fourth, the legislation must explicitly state in United States law—for the first time—that long-range missile and nuclear weapons programs are inseparable, and that Iran’s development and testing of missiles should be subject to severe sanctions. ...
No one should doubt my word. I said I would not certify the nuclear deal—and I did not. I will also follow through on this pledge. I hereby call on key European countries to join with the United States in fixing significant flaws in the deal, countering Iranian aggression, and supporting the Iranian people. If other nations fail to act during this time, I will terminate our deal with Iran. Those who, for whatever reason, choose not to work with us will be siding with the Iranian regime’s nuclear ambitions, and against the people of Iran and the peaceful nations of the world.".......

And No More One-Man Treaties.

The Dems cannot even backlash like usual because they know the right moves were made for the Iranian people and the world. The new Iranian Regime will bring peace, stability and freedom, freedom to a land that has been so oppressed since the 1970s.

Women will be set free from the headdress and the religious attire they are forced to wear. Education will return for young women in Iran and this will greatly enhance their economy. The nation will pivot and as the pivot occurs, My underground churches in Iran will emerge and My Son's Gospel will spread through Iran and through the Middle East. 

The seeds of my early church disciples have been planted centuries ago for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit throughout this land. The breakout of Christianity will spread from Iran throughout all of the Middle East.

I have told you there will be a multi-billion soul harvest and Iran will have millions and millions come to know My Son Jesus. The land of Iran will finally rest and My precious Holy Spirit will be free to move in the hearts of my dear Iranian people. Pray for Iran and the outpouring of My precious Holy Spirit on these innocent people who have suffered so much.

Another victory for Trump--Boom! He had the bomb sent and now he has changed the world and the plans of the enemy to destroy My Israel and My United States.

All of this problem will be quickly resolved as the new diplomatic and honest leadership is put into place in Iran.

President Trump is the first occupant of the Oval Office to apply the famous definition of insanity attributed to Einstein – that it is "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" – to North Korea's drive to become a nuclear power.  The bipartisan political establishment has absolutely failed to restrain North Korea from developing a nuclear arsenal and the means to deliver it to the United States, and now, as that country on the brink of realizing its dream, President Trump has tried something different.  And he has shown results.".......

The Councillor was then threatened by the $oros-owned Party "leaders" for Speaking Truth to Power. As it turns out, there's a lot of money in the exciting field of Cultural-Assisted Suicide.

The Babylon Bee: CNN Purchases Industrial-Sized Washing Machine To Spin News Before Publication

ATLANTA, GA—In order to aid the news station in preparing stories for consumption, popular news media organization CNN purchased an industrial-sized washing machine to help its journalists and news anchors spin the news before publication.
The custom-made device allows CNN reporters to load just the facts of a given issue, turn a dial to “spin cycle,” and within five minutes, receive a nearly unrecognizable version of the story that’s been spun to fit with the news station’s agenda.
One reporter was seen inserting the facts of a recent news story early Thursday morning.
“Okay, so we just slip in the location, the people involved, the facts of the story, and there we go,” he muttered as he fiddled with the buttons and dials on the machine. “Spin for five minutes on high, and we’ll have ourselves a news story.”
Minutes later, he removed the story and found it had turned into a perfect piece to push universal health care, common-sense gun control, and the removal of President Trump from office.
“Perfect!” he said, taking the story straight to his computer in order to upload it to CNN’s website.
At publishing time, CNN had also purchased an industrial-sized trash compactor in order to help compress and distort facts to fit into its preconceived narrative.".......

That was the satire that Facebook just censored, despite being an obvious joke.

"Hours later, Adam Ford, who runs The Babylon Bee, got a notification warning him that the post had been flagged as so-called “fake news” by Snopes, and that if it happened again, the Bee’s Facebook page could face de-monetization and its posts would suffer a reduced reach. ...
“There’s a difference between false news and satire,” the social network said in a statement to DCNF. “This was a mistake and should not have been rated false in our system. It’s since been corrected and won’t count against the domain in any way.”
In other words, Facebook is saying: Lol, sorry we threatened y’all with de-monetization. We like, totally didn’t mean it. But you can be sure that when we do mean to sandbag you, IT WILL BE SWIFT AND SEVERE.
Facebook’s statement, however well intended, doesn’t undo what happened to the Bee, nor does it erase the very serious and frightening implications of the social network’s power over information. In April, the social network announced it would let troll mobs decide what is and what isn’t fake news. A few months later, Facebook announced it would block ads from users it thinks are sharing “fake news.”
What happened to the Bee is just one example of the way the social network can arbitrarily decide what information they will bury and what they will lend a platform too. Similar arbitrary standards got them in trouble when former employees revealed that they routinely suppressed conservative news on purpose. And the fact that Facebook is now apparently relying on Snopes to sniff out who is sharing so-called “fake news” is totally insane.".......

It's bad enough that these companies are in the Censorship Business at all. But even worse, all the Thought-Crime Suppression is on one side of the political spectrum. Only conservative viewpoints are outlawed. They are now enforcers of the One-Party State.

The tactics are numerous. They won't let you accept donations. They pre-emptively re-direct traffic to sites with opposing views. They let you post things that only you can see, and when you get no response, you think no one else shares your viewpoint. They let Leftists like the Southern Swimming Pool Law Center smear you and censor your group. They manipulate ratings so your news stories and points of view are minimized, marginalized and even criminalized. Not to mention spying on the President.

Hell, they don't even have a sense of humor.
