The suit, which also names Police Commissioner Dermot Shea, says that if not for the “draconian restrictions on liberty” banning demonstrations, Geller would have organized and participated in a rally against the shut-down. These demonstrations, she argued, can be held while “maintaining proper social distancing.” The mayor’s office defended the policy and said it is pursuant to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s executive order. “If our officers see any large groups gathering, they will break it up — whether in a park or protesting on a street corner.”"...….

Diner owner urges Gov. Cuomo to reopen upstate NY: ‘There is no reason why we can’t open up now’

Restaurants will not be able to survive for much longer under the devastating economic impact of coronavirus shutdown orders, Crazy Otto’s Empire Diner owner Scott Tranter said Saturday
Appearing on “Fox & Friends Weekend” with host Griff Jenkins, Tranter said that the current number of cases in Herkimer would allow for a reopening.

“This has been absolutely devastating. We in Herkimer here are not downplaying the coronavirus. It’s real. I have a daughter-in-law on the front lines and a sister-in-law in Massachusetts. It’s real, but not like that up here,” he stated. “We have had basically — not to minimize this — three deaths. 19 people have it. No hospitalizations. It’s been devastating economically to businesses that have closed and are never going to reopen. We had 22 employees that we had to lay off. We just got the Paycheck Protection Program--brought 15 of them back last week. If you look at the statistics, if you look at the data, there’s no reason why we can’t open up now,” he remarked. “And, that’s my message to the governor. They keep changing the goal post. They keep changing the dates. They keep moving it forward and now for restaurants basically they are saying Phase 3 or Phase 4. And, you are talking July. And, all the businesses will — especially the mom and pop organizations — will not be able to hold out until July,” Tranter pleaded." …….

"Then, instead of flattening the curve with social distancing, California Governor Gavin Newsom moved the goalposts, vowing that all of California will open together – holding hostage residents who may live in areas without a huge COVID death rate. This week Newsom moved the goalposts again, announcing that in order to move forward with reopening, each of California’s 58 counties must comply with his latest edicts on coronavirus deaths, cases and testing. The governor pronounced that counties may not have any – zero – COVID deaths and only one case in a two-week period and must have a daily testing rate of 1.5 per 1,000 residents. Here’s a bulletin: the more testing you do the more cases you’ll get. The more people you have inside a county, the larger the number of people who will die. Gavin Newsom has changed this initially well-intentioned response into a slo-mo rope-a-dope. The longer this horror show goes on, the more time Newsom has to figure out how to make political hay. Take Friday, for example. Newsom announced that COVID-19 is such a scourge that he knows, after gazing into the orb, that in six months, Californians will be unable to vote in person in the November 2020 election. We must have vote-by-mail, he insisted, echoing the rallying cry of every Democrat governor in the country as well as the DNC. What a coincidence. This week Newsom also announced he was raising up an “army” of contact-tracers, investigators, who will chase down all the people who have COVID-19 and quarantine them – “every one.” Ventura County was the pilot program, as we reported. As one would expect, the guidance is a labyrinth of costly, unconstitutional, and draconian recommendations that would result in a permanent paranoid police state for the foreseeable future.

Our children would be turned into obsessive-compulsive cultists; field trips, class parties, and extracurricular activities would be canceled, cafeterias would close, and classmates seated six feet apart in some sort of educational dystopia.

“If a cafeteria is or group dining room is typically used, serve meals in classrooms instead. Consider keeping classes together to include the same group of children each day.”

Rather than join hands in prayer or extend blessings of peace with fellow congregants, churchgoers would wear masks and stand six feet apart. Church-centered celebrations would move online.

“Consider whether other gatherings may have to have attendance limited or be held virtually if social distancing is difficult, such as funerals, weddings, religious education classes, youth events, support groups and other programming.”

Choirs and musical ensembles would be canceled. (If this doesn’t make you wonder what sort of heartless sadists populate powerful government agencies, nothing will.) The clergy is encouraged to conduct “virtual” visits, except for last rites."...….

TENNESSEE – A coronavirus patient was arrested Thursday after prosecutors said he jumped a fence and fled the Nashville Fairgrounds, where health officials are using enforceable quarantines in an attempt to control an outbreak at an emergency homeless shelter. According to an arrest affidavit, a 39-year-old man was taken to the Nashville Fairgrounds on Monday and placed under quarantine by the Metro Nashville Public Health Department because he tested positive for the coronavirus. Health officials told the man he could not leave until he was cleared, but on Thursday he jumped a fence and headed north on Nolensville Road, the affidavit states. He was stopped and arrested by Metro Nashville Parks police by a city cemetery nearly two miles from where he had been quarantined. Metro Parks has charged the man with a single count of escape from a penal institution."...….

Was his name "Dred Scot" by any chance? I get the need to stop a Typhoid Mary. But it’s a legal black hole. It makes more sense than a quarantine of the healthy–but they’re doing both! Maybe it would be different if some of these officials weren't trying to make everyone homeless.

There is a wild mish-mash of standards. The Court won’t get off their well-paid asses and give some clear standards. They just punted when 25 million people are unemployed. Barr talks a good game when he’s not too busy bagpiping. The President has his own constraints. Congress is useless–by which I mean negatively, aggressively less-than-useless.

We’ve got mayors exempting their own businesses and actions while threatening their neighbors. We've got Trump-haters hell-bent on wrecking the economy and extending their Mussolini Mandates with no end in sight. Ever. We’ve got half-wits and control freaks. Also half-wit control freaks. Hey, Gretch. Governors holding out for billions in pensions. Leftists who wanted to shutter churches and empty jails long before the first sneeze. Politicians working for China. Alleged Science-Groupies saying sunshine and fresh air are dangerous. Medical Bureaucrats/vaccine salesmen trying to cash in on their patents, while Bill Gates wants to stab and tag everybody who ever laughed at his haircut. All 7 billion of them.

On reflection, many have risen to the moment. Our President and Vice-President have been heroic. Some legislators, judges and governors have been stalwart. Especially gratifying to see law enforcement leaders refuse to enforce the edicts of bullies. And above all, the citizens. Free American citizens.

Remember those WWII veterans with the President yesterday? That was the fight of their lives.

And this is ours.

In 1957, Ronald Reagan said "Don't be deceived because you are not hearing the sound of gunfire, because even so you are fighting for your lives."

You may not know it yet, you may not believe it yet, you may not want to believe it--who would? But we are fighting for Our Lives, Our Fortunes, Our Freedoms, Our Sacred Honor, too. 

The World War II veterans we honor on Victory In Europe-Day fought for their freedom and ours. We truly honor them by taking up this fight in this day, for our freedoms and theirs.

This is the battle for Victory in America.

The forms are different, the faces are new, but the Tyranny is as old as the snake in the Garden.
