Where Is Bill Barr? Oregon's Power-Drunk Governor Jails the Entire State Until July 6!

...And Maybe Longer If She Feels Like It!

You can't help but thinking that Gov. Kate Brown is trying to cancel the 4th of July, both literally and figuratively, and based on ZERO science. Even Anti-Science. Especially since Oregon is in the Top Ten Best States.

It’s a given that she’s trying to damage the economy and therefore the President. And without a doubt, she's trying to extort more federal funding, too. But now I’m starting to think she’s trying to provoke demonstrations, too--even violence. AG Bill Barr said he would consider backing up lawsuits by citizens, like he did in the Mississippi drive-in church case. That's not good enough anymore, Mr. Attorney General. We need legal push-back from you and TODAY. We need leadership from the top--and frankly, that includes the President.

Angelo Codevilla: “The political Left and the ruling class which it leads sees the pandemic as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to break ordinary people’s resistance to its power. Accordingly, they—Democrats, all—have used their near monopoly of mass communications as well as the commanding heights of the professions, corporations, and government to frighten the people into obedience and dependency.

Having identified themselves as the saviors from the virus by right of “science,” they try to delegitimize opposition to their plans to consolidate their new powers. They want more money to distribute to favorites as well as to hire more people to enforce more restrictions. The political equation could not be clearer: the ruling class is on the side of enduring and growing control of ordinary people’s lives, to design a “new normal,” while ordinary people yearn to recover their freedoms.
Hence, the basic political question is inescapable: Whose side are you on? Trump tried to escape it by striking what he thought was a good faith bargain with Fauci on a staged reopening of the country based on criteria that remained in Fauci’s power to define. Hence, he has condemned or declined to defend people on his side while hinting broadly that he is acting against his own better judgment. Not incidentally, Fauci et al. take every opportunity to discredit or to decline to defend him. Thus does he fulfill the dictionary definition of tragedy.
Fact is, trying to evade Politics 101 is a fool’s errand. Who are the people who are getting arrested for walking in the park, or swimming in the sea, or playing with their kids, or for protesting outside the offices and homes of autocratic officials? For whom does anyone think that these people voted in the last election? 95 percent for Trump? More like 100 percent. And why does anyone suppose they voted for him? Could it be because they were hoping to elect someone who would protect them from having their livelihoods and freedoms taken away by power-hungry officials?
The ruling class’s power grab has left millions of Americans powerless. They hunger for political leaders to take up their cause, to lead a resistance against the powerful poltroons who presume to choke ordinary life in the name of science.
For more than a month, President Trump has basically played second fiddle to Fauci and Birx and their models. He has not challenged the ruling class’s incompetence, let alone its mendacity about the pandemic’s mortality, or even their most ridiculous assumptions (whoever heard of staying out of the fresh air and sunshine to counter a virus?). Again, whatever Trump’s reasoning may be, it does not supply a powerless people’s demand for leadership. If he does not lead soon, they will find leadership elsewhere.” …….
We did what we were asked, Mr. President: 15 Days to Flatten the Curve, 30 more Days to Stop the Spread. It worked. The Curve is Flattened and the Spread is Stopped. It's time to declare victory, reclaim our lives and our livelihoods, and most of all, our Liberties. You have led us so well, Mr. President. Please don't stop now when we need your clarity and vision the most.
"The Knox County government backed off a ban of communion, baptism and Bibles at church services after Gov. Bill Lee said his guidance on houses of worship overruled local decisions.
The Knox County government is one of six counties that can largely set its own rules for reopening.
The county, in saying churches could reopen as of Friday, had determined that activities it ruled were not “core worship” were forbidden for any churches that decided to reopen this weekend, Reformation Charlotte reported. Those non-essential things included groups, classes, youth services, communion, baptism and the Bible. The county recommended against singing as non-essential.
The physical taking of communion/sacrament should not be performed due to the serial breaking of physical distancing across a congregation. Consider guiding parishioners in how to connect with the spiritual aspects of these practices during this phase.
WBIR reported Wednesday that the county’s requirements for churches were overridden by Lee’s Executive Order 30."
Leadership from the top stopped this tyrannical over-reach by local authorities, their heads swelled by their seemingly-limitless newfound powers to bully their citizens.

American Greatness: "It is a truism that, once people have power, they seldom want to give it up. That all-too-human trait does not recede, even in the midst of a national emergency.
Never in the history of the United States have Americans given up so much of our freedom. For the most part, we have done so willingly because we believed it was for our own good and for the good of the more vulnerable among us.

But that also means that we do not get to blithely leave the fate of our country in the hands of those we elected. They are our representatives, not our rulers. As Thomas Jefferson wrote to Edward Carrington on January 16, 1787, “The people are the only censors of their governors.” It is we, America’s citizens, who ultimately bear responsibility for how our leadership handles this crisis—that is what government by the people, for the people, and of the people means."

Beach crowds of Free People tell California's governor to go pound sand.

DNYUZ: "“But the Bill of Rights doesn’t go away during a crisis like this,” he explained. “What it does do is it requires that the government justify any restrictions as truly necessary.”
Barr said at the beginning of the pandemic, he thought it was right for there to be broad restrictions “because we didn’t know much about the disease except that it was very contagious.”
“But now that the curve has been flattened, the rate of spread has been slowed, our system has not been overwhelmed and has time to adjust to the situation, it’s time to start rolling back some of these restrictions in an orderly and sensible way.”
The attorney general cited President Trump’s “Opening Up America Again” plan, which gives governors the direction to begin reopening state economies in three phases. He also implied that the Justice Department could eventually take action against potentially unconstitutional virus restrictions.
“We are on the lookout for restrictions that are too widespread, too generalized, and are unduly discriminatory toward liberties such as religious liberty or speech, and we try to work with the state and local governments to address these concerns, and in the appropriate case we would consider taking action,” Barr said." …...
"eventually"?
"on the lookout"?
"would consider taking action"?

Respectfully, what the hell is wrong with you, sir?

The Bill of Rights HAS gone away in so many ways. And all your remedies are cast in some doubtful, contingent  future tense--but all the injuries are here, now and real.

Justice Alito just accepted a challenge to Pennsylvania's new House Arrest for Businesses-decree. That's the kind of leadership we need from the Attorney General and the President, too.

Is the DOJ is too busy trying to keep themselves out of jail to stop this out-of-control governor from jailing her entire state?

The Coronavirus Pandemic is China's fault. The Controlavirus Epidemic is ours.

Fear and Freedom--UPDATE: This post has infuriating tales of oppression--and gratifying stories of freedom. This Coron-Event has unmasked them both. Like our President, it is unmasking the truth of things, good, bad or indifferent.

There are plenty of control-freak cops, but there are also a large number of officers and departments who are not enforcing this ridiculous bull****. And there are probably some caught somewhere in between, like a lot of people. During our Revolution, for example, we were probably split in thirds: Loyalists, Patriots and unsure. I don’t really want a Revolution–I want the one we already had.

One odd aspect of this is how, when the medical side has greatly improved, some places are just now cracking down harder than ever. It reminds of identity politics; the better race relations get, the harder the Left clings to the Narrative. Somebody told them being a victim was the highest calling in life. There are also payoffs for clinging to this Corona Narrative, in money, power and control. It has largely stopped being about health.

The CDC just said "Forget what we told you before–this is comparable to a severe flu season death rate after all!". And given that anybody who ever sneezed and died was classified as COVID, it’s not even a severe rate. Maybe this it what it takes to red-pill the Blue States. Mine was when Hillary used the FBI to throw her political opponents in prison. I mean in 1994, not 2016. I hope this fraud doesn’t last as long as that one.
Notice anything?
"When the State tells you it’s safe to go to Home Depot to buy a lamp but dangerous to go and buy a flower, it’s not about your health.
When the State shuts down millions of private businesses but doesn’t lay off a single government employee, it’s not about your health.
When the State bans dentists because it’s unsafe, but deems an abortion visit okay, it’s not about your health.
When the State prevents you from buying cucumber seeds because it’s dangerous, but allows lottery ticket sales, it’s not about your health.
When the State mandates that churches be shuttered and allows pot dispensaries to remain open,
it’s not about your health.
When the State tells you it’s dangerous to go fishing in a motor boat alone, but the governor can get his stage makeup & hair done for TV appearances, it’s not about your health.
When the State puts you in a jail cell for walking in a park with your child because it’s too dangerous but lets criminals out of jail cell for their safety, it’s not about your health.
When the State tells you it’s unsafe to get treated by a doctor for physical therapy yet deems a liquor store essential business, it’s not about your health.
When the State says it’s OK to go to the grocery store but too dangerous to go out and vote, demanding mail-in voting, it’s not about your health."
